Infringes on a number of Artisan stuff, sadly.
Lendren2010-06-05 12:23:48
I actually suggested an artisan item like this but with more limitations so it would only be useful for vacationers: once you closed it, you could not take anything out, and once you opened it, it disappeared, so it would only help people who'd be away for a while. Estarra shot it down.

+Hamster of chaos add-on charge upgrade! 100cr? per extra use a month!

+A trophy phase-necklace for trophied heads.. think of it like a keystone but for trophied heads to keep track of who and how many you've collected!!! (I know several people who would buy this)

How about a spear you can put in your manse, maybe 5-10 credits, shove it into your manse, then shove heads on it. Preserves heads and is a gruesome display. Maybe have a few different kinds, such as ceiling vines that wrap around the heads, or even something like a cabinet or altar.

Bubble/fog machine. Manse artifact, put it in a room and every so often bubbles/fog appear in the room, or are constant.
Cloud orb. Constantly raining in the room. Or...allow the manse owner to turn it on or off. Should be able to be customized for waterfalls and such.
Water Orb. I do believe this has been requested several times, adds water to the room like a pool. Or...
Water Room Box. 200,000 gold or something. Makes a room with water in it. Make an ocean, or a river, in your manse!
Rodent hole. Spawns a rat or a hamster or a weevil once every so often in the manse. Would allow for hamster based designs.
Specialty servant/slave. Buy the servant, shove him in a room. TEACH SERVANT The purpose would be that if you need 50 vials, you teach him how to make vials, give the commodities to him, then he deposits them in a container in the room, or a basket when he's done. You go off and do other things. Just for Arts really. Second Artifact: 1-2 credit mind wipe scroll. Allows you to teach it a different skill, after wiping the first.

Spider nest: Every so often spawns a small spider. Could be a large one, weaker than a Glom one, or just a small ambiance message of spiders crawling around.
Wiggly Doors: Instead of opening for certain people, it smacks them and stuns them.
Plant Pots. Allows you to grow one herb plant in it. Regardless of season. Works best in a room with a sun orb.
Donation box. Only openable by the manse owner. Would help for people who rent manse rooms.
Spider Web Door. A self repair door that entangles enemies who walk through it, or anyone.
Fish pond. Holds a single kind of fish, maybe changes daily, and you can fish up to maybe 5 fish a day from it.
Rock Garden. Meditating in this rock garden cast fortuna on you! Or, acts like a snowman, with rocks.

Gnomish Whizzclicker. When used, forages in the area for you. Might end up with trash though, or possibly a gem. Mechanical squirrels don't have a sense of smell!
Gnomish Flare Producer. Similar to the Panic Button. A one use flare which blinds everyone in the room for 6 seconds, or, scares away most creatures or weaker monsters. Makes 1-3 flares a day.

I also approve of monster cages. To have baby or adult creatures in, so I can kill them for comms, and they respawn.

Cone of coning.

Lets you cone, dammit.
Sylphas2010-06-07 21:04:28
Water orb would be lovely. Also a way to make outdoor rooms experience weather.
ongaku2010-06-07 22:54:25
I really like the Water Room, Fish Pond, Rock Garden and Wiggly Door ideas. biggrin.gif All of them sound very cool though! Ooh, the spears/vines for heads too. :3
Jigan2010-06-10 23:19:03
Wine Rack-Allows you to store bottles without decaying. Allows you to see bottle contents. Year brewed would be lovely, but doubtful.
Wine Cellar Room Box- Allows you to keep bottles/Kegs without decaying

Dingbat artys

GreenHouse Miniature (50): Creates a greenhouse which can grow up to 6 herbs to a max of 25 each. GREENHOUSE ENVIRONMENT So you still could only grow herbs from the same place.

-Elemental Environs (50): Allows you to attune a greenhouse to an elemental plane type = elemental_

-Ethereal Environ (25): Allows attuning a greenhouse to Ethereal

-Astral Environ (100): Attune a greenhouse to astral.

-Automated Tender (X): Greenhouse counts as under growth spell. Must provide a powerstone each year to continue working

-Automated Harvester (X): Automatically harvests herbs when they reach max, down to a specified amount. Requires a powerstone each year.

More for fun than anything else. The costs are meant to make it less than feasible to get a ton of them.

Coating of Preservation: Make a piece of clothing no longer decay.

Tempting Fate (150): Allows you to create a custom fate deck. Contact support to assign names and values (perhaps even deck size).

A Good Cause: When you use charity influence you get extra gold (Or some gold if they would not have given any). "Seeing that you represent a good cause $target gives you an extra spot of gold."

Dwarven Axe: When in an indoor area you can MINE FOR limit per day.

Gem Processor: Put in a rockeater corpse and get a gems commodity out, chance of 2!

Lumber Mill Miniature: Allows you to turn raw lumber in for wood comms

More random stuff may be on the way!

As a comment, I don't see dingbat artifacts that produce commodities for little/no regular input as a possibility. For instance, even the furnace required iron/coal commodities, the minting machine required gold sovereigns, etc.

Maybe beastfeeds? Feed the bugger and grow it so you can kill it.

Might have been mentioned already, but extra flashpoints for ships? Could be an artifact for the chair, or seperate module.
Lendren2010-06-14 16:37:56
I proposed that once, but we all guessed 100cr is the least we could possibly hope it would cost; and a whole second one-room ship costs less than that and gives you three more flashpoints, effectively.

My suggestion: a dingbat dollhouse. It works like a tent in that it it creates a temporary room inside it. Once inside, your dingbat dolls do extra things. And the people outside don't have to listen!

Yes!

Also, an artifact that gives pacing. Not so much for myself, but so I could give it to people following me, because I sprint all the time.

Widget of Mind Control
coerce

Grants force command ability to the wearer. Base equilibrium balance is 6 seconds (or some other number suitable to needs of balance). can be 0 -10, which expends power to diminish the equilibrium balance by half a second per point.

I imagine this would sell very well.

edit: Changed the item type to something generic. I think most people would prefer a rune, or an inventory item that needn't be worn.
Malarious2010-06-16 03:44:39
Still hoping for A Good Cause, and Tempting Fate....

I would ADORE a custom fate deck. Please? PLEASE!?

ALSO

-=-Credit artys-=-

Memory Crystal: When attached to a pilots chair flashpoints will not be lost on implosion, in addition the ship can hold extra flashpoints.

Clarramore Miracle Bush/Shrub: Grows random herbs, up go 10, on it (from any plane) similar to how a flowerpot or candybx works.

-=- Dingbat Artys -=-

Bouncing Mimic Egg: Can ATTACH it to a beast for a number of months. Becomes a perfect clone.

Gnomish Empathy Discombobulator: When on it causes you to speak with random emotions.. sometimes you do NOT want to be so empathic.

A Pointy High-Heel: Dont tell Estarra you got hold of it! BRANDISH HEEL Fills their head with previous beatings brought on by the Heel.

Slivvens Egg: Grow your very own pet Slivven. Inherent Poison and Fly! Impress your friends! Scare your enemies! And dear Nil do not leave him alone on an aethership.

Sentient Aslaran Tail: Can GIVE TO TAIL. Cannot wield weapons for use of course. Can TAILGRAB while on bal. TAILLASH to grab onto trees. Full of fun and utility!

Mucka's Spoon
-Allows you to poison any food with any poison
or
-Contains any poison for the purpose of poisoning food. As in, INFUSE WITH SPOON and it poisons it appropriately.

Lendren2010-06-18 21:21:34
Wackodoru for Changelings (5db): Allows a changeling a second change in the current month (and is consumed when the change is done). Can only be used once per year.

(What would be even cooler is if you could use them as often as you like, but the more often you use them, the more likely it is that the change you attempt will fail and make you a random race other than the one you asked for. STAT would show you how unstable your body was; every time you used wackodoru, it'd go up, and every month end, it would go down a tiny amount. Use it once a year and it'll never backfire, but more than that, the odds of a backfire steadily increase, and the longer it takes to get back to full stability.)
Jigan2010-06-19 03:02:45
Once again, I would like to request an artifact with a sliding cost.

An artifact which bumps you up to level 80. The higher level you already are, the less it costs. Maybe you can only use it after level 50 or are out of newbie stage.

Some people can't hunt due to time constraints, or connection issues. And influencing can be just as bad.

dazed.gif

Or a common artifact which removes need to eat/sleep.
