Once again, I would like to request an artifact with a sliding cost.

An artifact which bumps you up to level 80. The higher level you already are, the less it costs. Maybe you can only use it after level 50 or are out of newbie stage.

Some people can't hunt due to time constraints, or connection issues. And influencing can be just as bad.

Or a common artifact which removes need to eat/sleep.

I thought there was one.

I can't find it in the help files now (but they've been reorganized so many times)... hm.

There was an auction arti sold that eliminated the need to sleep or eat if you were below 80. I -think- Arel got one of them.

Yeah, I just went digging through the forums to try and figure out what I was thinking of. I found this:

* Artifact:
* a Great Rune of Sustenance
o Function:
o Those who wear an item with this rune will find they do not need sleep or sustenance. Note that this does not give any resistance from attacks upon you that make you sleepy or hungry.

It would appear to be a limited-edition artifact auction.

Dingbat/Artifact Suggestions

While speaking with Faragan, he came up with an idea

Artifact Bookseal -- Attach this artifact to a bookbinding product (book for example) you have, and the book will return to you as if it is your artifact journal.

Alternately make a disposable artifact that when used on a journal or book, transforms your artifact journal into that shape.

Surfboard offers benefits beyond just permanent waterwalk. Map offers benefits beyond just permanent scry. Is there a chance the nose, yoyo, pogo stick, etc, could as well? It would be awesome if yoyo would pick up everything a mob drops (gold, essence, etc) when it dies instead of just the corpse. I have no clue what to add to the totems clones.

tl;dr Make dingbat yoyo pick up everything a mob drops if you get the killing blow, not just the corpse.

I demand the ghost of a gnome/fink that resides in your shadow that collects everything for you.

Puppeteer

Place a puppet on the ground that can you can speak with and listen from anywhere on the plane.

DEFENSE
Mantle of intelligence
+3 to intelligence and charisma

And maybe artifact piercings, for example an artifact ear piercing would give true hearing.

webbed hands
lets you swim faster

Mantle of intelligence is a bit... Much, they might make it if it was just +1 to just intelligence but it'd be pretty expensive.

But then I think if they were going to make artifacts like that they would have already...
Ardmore2010-06-27 15:45:22
If I recall correctly, it was said, on multiple occasions, that +stat artifacts will never exist in this game.

I want something like a... Thread of Restructuring (in lack of any better name).

Swaps an enchanted clothing item's cutting and blunt protection stats, resets the decay timer (only once on usage) and slightly reduces the chance for the item to go tawdry upon repairing (not cumulative).
Doesn't make the item permanent or resetting.

Cost: 100 cr or so.

Probably won't be considered since (I'd think and hope) 'tempering' of enchanted clothing is on its way to implementation?
Right now, I'd buy one, though.

Permanent truehearing neuters bards, so I'm assuming that would just be RUBable or something, and use your herb balance, and otherwise act exactly like earwort?

No thanks, it hurts herbalists. I make a lot of gold off earwort.

how about it makes you hear words that the wind usually sweeps away?

how about having the jewelers hammer speed up gem cutting as well?

Nothx. If you speed up the gemcutting, then you have to make all the other trade artifacts include a similar bonus.

Yeah, cause mallets and gloves don't already do that?
