The point isn't where it could or could not be found or bought. The point is it's an artifact that only benefits one or two groups, both in the same commune, with no matching artifacts for other orgs, since there aren't many matching mechanics that could be easily expanded like this (One could argue for the Researchers/Illuminati getting one to expand their rifts as one way of another org having a similar mechanic, but even that's slightly flawed). It'd be like if they released the Censer of the Tainted Earth without having released any of the other ones.

Double Post, but had an idea for an artifact this time rather than a comment on another idea

Decanter of Horrible Perfume:
USE DECANTER to douse yourself in horrible smelling perfume, sufficient to make brother Skunk wrinkle his nose.

- Causes a self-skunking, refills one use per Lusternian day, holds five uses maximum. If there are already five uses in the bottle, it overfills, skunking you involuntarily. The skunking is identical to someone under Skunk totem SPRAYing you in either case.

READ DECANTER returns: Eau de Wainwright, est. 240 ACoE

Is there any benefit to stinking? Are you unScentable the same as spraying the room?

manse artifact: Teleportation room

With this artifact, you can have your own set of portals for those large manses. Each portal will lead to a location, your bedroom, the kitchen, the fulcrux room, and more. (Also hoping something like this could connect one manse to your docked aethership(s) for easier access.

As for teleporting to rooms in a manse, I know Richter has something special like that put on his crown.

He had a command to link rooms together (get gold out, build the exit, take the exit, destroy the exit).

Sometimes he would do that into his office with the only main exit being a reinforced steel door, and if you followed, he'd leave and destroy the exit leaving you trapped there.

I wish they'd give us a flat price for removing a rune (without destroying it) so we could move them to a new item. 50cr per rune, same as customization, seems fair -- you won't move them trivially just to try to squeeze more life out of items, etc., but it won't be insane to consider correcting mistakes made in attaching runes to ugly or mismatched jewelry, jewelry with enchantments you no longer need, etc.
