I got this idea while thinking about the games own "Playing devices" (those memory crystals), and seeing how the player base might want to use them.
Recording Device (maybe Crystal).
This is a device that can record what the user experiences.
RECORD START (Starts Recording or Appends Recording)
RECORD STOP (Stops Recording)
RECORD OVERWRITE (Erases the Log and starts again)
PLAYBACK (Displays all the recordings.)
The following gets recorded based on the Toggle.
Everything the user sees, hears, or the emotions in the room.
Commands to Read or Look at objects.
RECORD EMOTES ON/OFF
RECORD SHOUTS ON/OFF (logs shouts)
RECORD YELLS ON/OFF (logs Yells)
RECORD CHANNEL ON/OFF (records what you hear in channels)
RECORD TELLS ON/OFF (Records Tells)
RECORD POWERS ON/OFF (Records Combat messages and power effects)
RECORD NARRATE (Allows you to type an internal narration that is appended to the recording. This allows you to make internal comments like a narrator for a play. The color is for effect and to emphasize the narration).
The recorder is dependent on the user's own personal experiences.
For the paranoid, the following can be done.
A Privacy toggled room can't be recorded.
People with invoked blue will be recorded as " says something which is drowned out by white noise"
A Divine can always jam recording devices in his or her presence, if the Divine so chooses.
What would be really cool if you could use recording devices and then submit them to the stages for playback or something like that.

Still pretty bummed this report was rejected... I'd really like something that gives the ability to see what type of damage you are taking from any given attack.
+1 Sip bonuses (perhaps h/m/e specific)
Reduce number of riftable commodities used when crafting items by 20% (owner only)
Extra weight for demi powers
charm to enchant paintings/statues only
Display owner and size of all demesnes in the local area
Older ideas still much in demand:

item to carve totems out of elder trees

I'd like to see a cheap artifact (15-50 credits) that would allow you to make a custom painting. One painting per artifact. That might be the way to allow creativity while discouraging people from doing something stupid.

Custom paintings can already be made by using an aether manse, by changing the description/room title and painting a landscape.

Regular artifact ideas?! I do support most of the above (making the magic chisel a general release and a totemcarving hatchet would be dandy) and want to add:
-increasing levels of dominion runes!
-a manse dweller upgrade option that enables them to upkeep dingbat farms. The commodity they upkeep would be random, but they'd be able to help tend the farm!
-a charcoal paint set that lets non-forgers rune their own wielded things! Needs 2 coal per rune, would be dandy since it's not like forgers make gold off of runing other people.
-an artisan artifact that enables them to deconstruct creations and recuperate a fraction of the commodities. The things they'd be able to deconstruct with this would be anything they can make - pipes, kegs, jewelryboxes, chandeliers, etc. Tailors have shears, so why not?
-a Fortuna card! Totems got gouged enough, and I don't mind analbeit random boost to racial stats every IC day.
More of my greed to come.

Don't just re-post previous ideas you 'really liked'. We keep a list of anything within the realm of reason that's been suggested, as well, so if we decide to revisit them, we already have them written down.
This thread has a bad habit of becoming a rehashing of the same ideas for the 5th or 6th iteration, and a lot of 'oh man, I wish they'd do that!'.

-Scorpion's Tattoo - lets you envenom your weapons with any poison.
-Ranger's toolbelt - laying traps won't cost comms, but disarming gets you nothing.
-Boots of Shanth - Increased movement beyond that that of the winged sandals of haste (+2), basically an upgrade of the sandals. I'd be pretty happy if there was a tier even higher than that.
-Promise ring - a pair of rings that you give to someone else, lets you teleport, tesseract, summon, etc. to that person faster and for free. It'd be cool if it stacked with the quickening ring.
-Tramp stamp - Lets you keep the same ecology/tracking mob (ID-wise), and lets you customize them. They can still die, but when they come back, it'll be the same mob.

How about an atifact that let's you see traps from trackers, like if you glance in the room next to you and/or gives you a chance to avoid them.

Okay maybe I did not think this through, but disarming only grants half the comms anyway, so...I just want to lay traps without needing a billion comms
P.S. I'm pretty sure there should be an ability in discernment to check for traps in a room, but why would you ask for an artie that lets you avoid them, can I have an artie that lessens my earache time?
