Seriously though, I'm pretty sure we're restricted to approximately 300 px in total signature height, though it's a somewhat flexible guideline. I can't find the admin post about that at the moment, but it's there.

Freaking marry me already. >< Seriously.

... I'm working on it!!! >.O This is difficult for someone who's played good guys for the past year and a half while he's been RPing another game!!

Even good guys have dark thoughts. Those horrible little things that you'd never say in real life. Simply allow the thoughts to surface and figure out how to use them. The issue which a lot of people have is when and were to draw the line. Bring forth the darkness from the back of your mind, filter them into sarcasm or hatred, and let it flow.

Most people forget that the reason why they auto filter things (if they do) is to prevent people from getting upset. Just draw the line somewhere, and work hard to improve where you can push the boundaries and where they stop. Being evil often takes work, more work than it does to achieve the nirvana that a truly chaotic character requires to pull off, but once you refine it, it becomes easier. And easier.

And then one city isn't enough...only a state, then a country, then a continent...then a hemisphere, then the world.

Just draw the line somewhere, that's the most important thing of all. You can murder millions of people to expand your empire, but don't get caught having sex with a dog. You screw the wrong pooch, and it's all over.

stuff about Jhagar/Peashooter/etc.

I've never heard of Peashooter, but I knew about Jhagar. And here I thought that had basically become the "official" Magnagoran PvP clan, because I rarely hear anything about the Midnight Legion. (A few people have told me "I get extra rations from it," but that's it. I think I need to demand that I be allowed to enter that clan just so that I can confirm who gets what rations, since I'm the freaking power minister. dry.gif )

Don't worry though. Gaku will save his buddy from the mean ol' Maggies who want to push him around. happy.gif

Awesome stuff that I love him for.

wub.gif

This has been something I've struggled with in IRE games for a long time, because of that whole "I don't know if it's okay to send an OOC tell to someone saying 'Please don't take this personally!'" I was a pretty awful Mhaldorian, admittedly. Mostly because I just didn't do anything other than sacrifice myself to Sartan a half a dozen times or so. Oh, and I robbed a couple of people, then felt bad about it and gave their censor.gif back. sleep.gif

I think Magnagora fits me better than Mhaldor, because my character doesn't necessarily have to act evil in my eyes. He can be a nice guy who just has really twisted ideals (like "My God's gonna eat everyone and it's gonna be so awesome! I can't wait!"). At least, when he's not in public he can be nice. dry.gif But that's not the point. I want him to become, in public, like Jigan has said. happy.gif

Yea sacrificing myself to sartan 800 times a month was ridiculous after a while. I was definetly at a halt when it came to lvls

I started either QQing or hiding in someone's bed when they would call for the sacrifice. dry.gif

I think to say that "Jhagar is used for griefing, not PvP" proves my point, ironically. We all know the Legion is not used at all for quite awhile now, note that no one attempting to attack me for my previous post disagreed with that assessment. So if you want to say that Jhagar is used for organizing griefing, then the only organized PvP Magnagora does it griefing? tongue.gif But really, Jhagar is used for organizing the defense against raids and the like as well. If you mean to say that Jhagar was not meant to originally fulfill these purposes, that part I wouldn't disagree with or anything.

I don't mean to put down every single person in Jhagar, some are nicer and more reasonable than others. Lothringen and Sahmiam for example, seem to have a very different attitude towards the average Magnagoran when it comes to PvP and I have seen them fill non-Jhagar people in on things. But this cannot be said about probably half the people in Jhagar, while it remains true that the Legion goes unused.

As some people have said, putting forth the effort to use the Legion would be the appropriate thing to do for a lot of reasons. In my opinion, people who are leaders in Magnagora have a responsibility to try and use the Midnight Legion as often as possible, because to do otherwise is to leave Magnagora's infrastructure unused, and when those who can put that infrastructure to use leave it unused, they are not fulfilling their duties as leaders (is the nicest way to put it).

I'm going to have to agree with Jello here. Jhagar has been the bane of Magnagora since its founding as the lolgriefing clan led by Thoros. I'm sure it wasn't intended that way but it has ended being so anyhow. The fact that it has great helpful people in it does not offset the fact that it has asshats as well, and that a fair share of combat is coordinated there. Why is Peashooter used instead of Midnight Legion too? It could easily be used precisely in the same fashion and has been in the past (as evidenced by help files with a list of commands you were to highlight and make triggers for). As it stands, unless an aspiring combatant happens to be noticed and taken under the wing of one of the people leading those clans, they will always be in the dark and fail to be involved.

I have heard of people who asked to be taught too and were told to join Jhagar because the person in question, a GC, could not be bothered to explain things IC or over Legion. There has also been a person who seriously wanted to give combat a shot and asked anybody they could come across in their Guild for help (ur'Guard) and were brushed off with a short vague answer or 'you have to figure it out for yourself' or received no answer whatsoever. That continued for a week and eventually said person QQ'ed for good (having tried Magnagora three times over the course of few years with same result every time).

Awesome Nariah stuff.

That's really upsetting to hear that people have basically been discouraged from becoming good combatants simply because of that clan. sad.gif I have to admit, it's always felt, to me, like I wouldn't be able to get anywhere in the city because I wasn't in the "elite fighter" clique. It's also frustrating to think that I might be turned away if I ever wanted to try my hand at combat simply because I don't want to bother with the Jhagar clan. sleep.gif

Nariah, a bit off-topic, but thought I'd throw this out there: I adore you for all the support you've given me. wub.gif You used to scare the crap out of me (on an OOC level blackeye.gif ), but I really feel honored and inspired after all the help I've gotten from you. happy.gif And despite scaring the living daylights out of me, you've also been an inspiration. You're one of the great Magnagorans in my eyes, and I hope that I can be that someday too. smile.gif
Sylphas2010-07-12 17:02:37
Come to the SEG? unsure.gif

We're having issues with our fighter clan too, despite the apparently lack of cliquey grief clans. We just have too much noise and not enough signal most times. And people use CT anyway. >_<
Lothringen2010-07-12 17:58:11
Peashooter is inter-organizational.

Midnight Legion could definitely be utilized better, I don't disagree with that, but Jhagar doesn't prevent anyone from learning combat, or becoming a fighter, or advancing at all within Magnagora's society. A majority of GMs and GAs are not in Jhagar.

Jhagar's "coordination" consists of, "Let's go raid X" and "X is at Y, let's gank him/her." In the case of defense, at least, it is usually also announced over the city aether. Apart from that, it's just a bunch of like-minded people shooting the breeze and discussing combat (which is what I assume Disciples of Klangratch is like, and lack of membership there doesn't preclude anyone from participating in combat.)

Shaddus2010-07-12 18:02:38
It's also an artisan cartel, so you people don't need to be trying to get in. :oldman:
