The only real game effect it has is I can sweep away poison gas clouds/contagion. I never come across that stuff, had to ask a Magnagoran Chef to do that for me.

But then again, what else would the Janitor do?

Should totally take you along on raids if we ever did them often.

Fixed.

Also, I would like to be a more active Hoaracle-follower, but I just can't think of anything Hoaracle-related that doesn't involve long papers on philosophy or adding to my long to-do list of designs. Does anyone have any suggestions?

The main path of advancement in the Order is composed almost entirely of dropping in on his fulcrux and engaging in some sort of meaningful discussion. He's usually quick to answer - if he doesn't show up in 3 minutes or so he's either busy or not around.

How long has that been in place? *checks Order scrolls*

Since the start. biggrin.gif I guess we just don't spread it around.

He claims to find mortals fascinating, but even then I don't drop in to talk all the time because I'm terrible at small talk so I just stand there awkwardly and try and make amusing jokes and fail miserably at it and might end up boring everyone to death if I don't leave soon and yeah...

Doesn't seem like it, no use for sleep and amnesia is terrible.

You know that gust does the exact same thing? You just can't remove contagion clouds with a lich in the room, and poison clouds in geomesne are restored on the next meld tick.

Aye, thats what I meant by not having to design a hat to go with it...

I sense myself submitting a request to the Charites soon.

I can submit it myself... I just didn't know if it was possible like how you can submit robe designs to be in the coats category....

What do obesefessors hit with, and what do they afflict?

Also, which Astral mob is the most worth it for experience?

Lastly, how do linked mobs differ from the normal ones?
Unknown2010-11-17 16:14:37
FIRE!

They afflict with burning, which gives burn levels. I think they just bop their book in your head, so I'd assume blunt physical damage...

FIRE!

Heh, I suppose since they're linked to Gaudiguch, that fits nicely.

Well, a few more questions:

Are obesefessors worth bashing for experience?

Also, which Astral mob is the most worth it for experience?

Lastly, how do linked mobs differ from the normal ones?

Linked mobs are quite a bit tougher than normal, and net about 1.5-3x of the normal experience. They have the same afflictions and everything, but both health and experience vary quite a bit.

Oooh, ok, thanks! So, their damage isn't affected?
Kiradawea2010-11-17 16:41:15
More specifically, they get stronger the more people are on the sphere when they're linked. Too many people and they become pretty sick.

Oof, so, is there a 'sweet spot' for number of people, or is solo always best?

Their damage is affected quite a bit. Assume double damage, and you won't be in for too many nasty surprises.

No, it definitely, definitely is affected.

Scorpions yield the best exp per kill, but can also be one of the more annoying ones due to charybdon.
Parasites yield the worst, and are the most annoying to deal with, period.
Obesefessors are pretty good, though I'm not quite sure how I'd rank them. They won't hinder at all, but they will put the hurt on anyone with a fire weakness, and their unblockable maggot attack is one of the more damaging mob attacks up there.
Kiradawea2010-11-17 16:45:23
Magnagora found a sweet spot. They used to do Astral bashes with reportedly 30+ people, but that is no longer feasible. I think they managed to get some decent groups though. I'll let someone who actually joined their later hunts be more precise.

In general though, a good Astral bash is considered to have a better XP to time invested ratio than Aetherhunts.
Unknown2010-11-17 16:50:24
Hrm, I can solo unlinked obesefessors, haven't tried the linked ones, but perhaps with life blessing, health blessing and con platters with healing scroll I could survive.

I think I'll stick with obesefessors once I get Conglutinate, don't have Tessaract to escape Astral if the spheres move. Unless I find bashing partners who can Tessaract.

Thanks for all the replies!
