Go for it. I want my monk clarification though about that, though. Any monks can do it, right? The proned = more damage bit?

Will it take a monk envoy to address that, or will I have to wait to do it myself?

Report #481 Skillset: Skill: MonkDamage
Guild: Ninjakari Status: Submitted Dec 2010
Problem: Monks are capable of doing atrocious amounts of damage. The problem is a factor of many things including multiple sources of damage bonuses. This report is focused on the prone bonous of +50% damage, as it directly contributes to the insane damage and indirectly contributes to the effectiveness of other bonuses. The +50% damage allows a monk to force a sip on an opponent when the opponent should be applying to cure wounds: thus wounds are built faster, and the higher levels of wounding are achieved without effort or skill.
Solution #1: Have each form of prone add +10% to damage (sprawled, paralysis, grapple, stun, etc). Cap the bonus at +30%.
Solution #2: Change the +50% on prone to +50% on sprawl.
Solution #3: Change the +50% damage on prone to +25% on prone.

So yes, any monk can do it, Ninjakari submitted that report in December (so it's currently being admin-reviewed). There are other bonuses, such as high wounds (I believe critical wounds is +250% damage).

Fair painful numbers still, now that I've got a glance at it, but at least there's a report on it. I've an 800cr artie that gives me a 10% boost. 25% boost on any prone is unpleasant to think about.

What're the numbers like for damage based on wounds? I hear that at crit levels, there's a 250% damage boost? Is that true and will the damage boosts still stack? Or is it smaller?

Edit: ...a 250% damage boost. Really.

Edit2: On a more constructive edit! Does warrior damage scale up with wounds too? I mean, I don't recall (recently) that warrior damage scales higher with more wounds, but I couuuuld be wrong.
Ixion2011-01-05 08:46:12
No. Warrior damage is constant (though not the same for each wounding aff achieved), and not based off of wound levels.

Fear those 200 damage attacks. Scary stuff there.

Rawr. More notes to add to the pile then. Thanks for the answers, folk. happy.gif

I wish I got past 200 damage. Last time I saw a warrior hit me, it was below that. sad.gif

Gone is the time when I winced IRL looking at the damage Thoros did to me. These days, I dread seeing my e-character hit the floor face first and get raped. sad.gif

Report 481. Submitted ironically, by the Ninjakari.

I'm told the first attack proned and you had high wounds to begin with.

I also was using hard mod and the lunge modifier which both increase damage as well. It isn't ironic either, Sahmiam is just the most ready to slot a nerf. We also see it as meaning we need the least changes so we can push other things back. smile.gif

Edit: And there's my answer. How dandy. That hard number of a 50% boost is fair ugly. badday.gif

The other monks all can do more damage than we can.
- Tahtetso have smash mod (stronger than hard mod)
- Nekotai can do burst damage from poison hitting
- Shofangi can buff the kick with bullstrength

Ninjakari are the only ones without a special modifier to deal extra damage.

Bad enough in its current incarnation! Alas, need more time though. Oh wells.

New question time though: do those noble quests happen only upon completion of a whole 14.1.3.whatever it is that lists the segregated honours quests? If so, I think I'm only three short now (even if I've never actually seen the Maeve sceptre quest give a line). dazed.gif
Ixion2011-01-05 11:19:51
Noble != epic, specify what you mean exactly?

If you mean the noble honours, I gave a pretty big hint for everyone in my raves post about what it entails and what it's about.

If you mean the nature category in HELP 14.1.2, it doesn't have an "epic" style quest.

Do the Moon/Night bubble quests count towards the eight quests necessary?
Xiel2011-01-05 21:15:38
Wonder if the Snoefaasia one does. It's not listed down though. -ponder-

Pretty sure they do -not-

They do not. And it should have been more clearly written - you need eight honour lines, one from every bubble (so both sides of the candy only count as one).

Edit: Nevermind, figured it out.

I always thought they had a skill that allowed them to discern how timewarped a person is. bored.gif

But thanks!

Nope.

We can't fly either. ranting.gif
