erm. I just decided to be an exploring person after getting sewers in Environment and now I'm stuck.unsure.gif (I find the Survey message that I don't know where I am funny. crying.gif ) However do I get out? I can't kill myself.

Edit: I found out what to do with those icky boils. Are the only creatures here those diseased parasites?
Turnus2011-03-25 17:17:01
If you already have the level 2 wounding, I would get stat before upgrading to level 3 wounding. The price jump between 2 and 3 is pretty big, and getting the stat rune will let you temper down speed to add back to precision.

I don't know about elemental runes, never got them myself. Are they really that great? Maybe back when they converted 2/3s of damage type but now that its only 1/3 it seems sort of a waste.

I never got past cestodes and parasites, but there are more, afaik. I was going to finish up sewers, but until I get Ascend I have no urge to get stuck in Muud again.

Pretty much any damage type is better than cutting/blunt for facing against flat DMP differences (except potentially magic, and Moondancers are pretty much the worse for high magic dmp, soooo...), and that can mean much more than a 30% damage upgrade in some cases. At the least, it is significantly more noticeable than +10 stats, unless you have ridiculously good latency and value speed above all else.

Fuyu, you're in Muud. Unless you can get someone to rescue you, just die to get out. It's not worth building up the insanity over (yes, you will get insane in there - more quickly than on astral, too.)

Every time you move in the sewers there's a chance that Muud will grab you and drag you down there, and no, there's plenty down there much worse then the parasites. The parasites are actually the weakest, I think.

Parasites do more damage than several of the others against a lot of targets, actually, since they have crazy damage types on their attacks (poison, lightning, asphyxiation).

You might not notice because you happen to be a druid. ninja.gif

I got that advice after I returned back.losewings.gif I saw the cestodes, too. Them appearing made me decide to let them kill me and just conglut.

If it's any consolation, you're unlikely to get through without having to tank a group of 4-5 parasites at one of several clot points. If that would have killed you anyways, then it's better to go early than struggle and have insanity to wait off.

Likely a check to see when it's reached that point. I've done something similar in other situations.

So, uh, how does one gain in aethership piloting proficiency? I just flew around for about an hour today and didn't even get it to go up by 1%. sad.gif

Edit: Is there an Aetherspace map anywhere similar-ish to the (outdated) one here that is up-to-date and maybe has the other planes as well?

We've bugged profs for piloting, they explained the formula and that it does actually work, it's just everyone is unlucky with it apparently. The bug solution explains it well.

For reference:

Bug #16314 Resolution: I'm not certain that this is a bug. Note the following and observe if it
follows these rules. If not then message me (Roark) specifically what's broken. First, there is a
limit to what you can gain in 24 hours. The command SHIP PROFICIENCIES will inform you if you are
maxed out for the day. The gain is also random. It takes 10 points to show a 1% gain, and each
eligible command has a 1/15 chance of adding a point. So you could be unlucky and take a while to
get 9 points, which might not register as a % increase. Lastly, the distribution is random. It is
theoretically possible to get 100%/100%/100%, though extremely improbable (nor would it last long).
If someone claims to get 100% in two or more proficiencies without an eye patch then I'd need more
info on what happened to rule out being luckier than the a Super Lotto winner.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------
I don't seem to be gaining any ship proficiencies at pilot. I've been hunting/flying for about 10
hours total and only went up 2%... wondering if this is incorrect or not, as I can easily gain 10%
in grid in under 10 minutes.
-------------
My pilot proficiency does not increase no matter how much I pilot. (Grid and turret works after
testing.)
-------------
Pilot proficiency seems impossible to raise, I flew around manually, no gliding, for a few hours the
other day to try to raise my pilot prof, which in the past has done a great job of getting the skill
back up, but i did not even gain 1% after those couple hours, I'm not sure if there was a change to
pilot prof that I missed, if so disregard this
-------------
Ship proficiencies seem to be working a bit differently than how it was intended to work. Someone
told me they were able to get 100 in 2 proficiencies and 0 in the last. You can also get weird
numbers like 30 80 99 (random example). I believe the goal of proficiencies, as per the announce
post during the Aethercraft overhaul, is so you can do all 3 tasks but only be an expert at 1. So
something like 66 66 66 would be legal (because you'd have to sacrifice those 32 points away from
100 to distribute to the other two), but 30 75 95 would not be (because one is only 5 points below
100 where another is 25 points above 50).

Had you already gained proficiency in other modules that day? You can only learn so much per day. Otherwise, just keep flying. Are you gliding or steering? I seem to recall gaining proficiency fastest when I flew in circles hunting gargantuans, and that was all steering.

I use these mainly. The downside is the bubbles aren't labeled.

If you're gliding it will only count as one command send no matter how many rooms you move. Try using steer.

Was trying plain steering for a while, but it didn't help. Most of it was gliding, though, so I'll have to give it more before I decide something is broken.

Here, I use this myself- I took the up to date aetherspace map and labelled it. It's only prime, though. I don't have any for the other planes.

Can I add that one to the wiki?

Only vines I know of are in the Serenwilde nexus world.
