ElementalTattoos. They resist movement from what? The passive crap that throws you about on the elemental planes? Like the gusts of wind on air and the earthquakes on earth? Or am I getting it wrong?

That's what it looks like, yea.
Ssaliss2011-04-18 19:04:03
How do they lower it though? Is there a 5% chance for a forced movement to be ineffectual (in which case it, pardon the expressions, "sucks the big one") or does it lower the 25% (or whatever proc-rate they have) to 20%?

Yeah, I just saw the 5% and I'm now thinking it's not worth switching out my dmp.

Illuminati: a viable class for my alt? Or what? And how about Spiritsinger?
Razenth2011-04-18 23:14:13
I still maintain that if Illuminati had a top-tier combatant, people would be screaming OP at them.

Yeah, really. I personally think they're probably worse than monks in the sheer number of afflictions they can give you and their ability to just about outpace most curing. I've seen things come from certain Illuminati that would be really scary if they really took proper advantage of it (or had power (inside joke)).

EDIT: okay, probably not worse than monks, but at least onpar?

This was my thinking too, kinda like how a lot of people think Moondancers are no good.

Edit: the only problem I see is, do they have a way to tell what level of temporary insanity someone is at?

Looking at the skill, I hope what it does is reduce the chance of it firing at all on you, instead of resisting the movement after it starts.

Not in an ASSESS kind of way, although you can use Truename to determine if they're at least at moderate level.

If I'm not wrong, the monocle artifact should let you see what level of temp insanity.

Just so I understand this correctly, I can have two back tattoos of 100 weight each, but I can only have 1 gut tattoo of 100 weight? But I could have 2 gut tattoos with 50 weight? I don't really understand this weight thing entirely.
Ssaliss2011-04-19 14:35:49
That seems to be the case, yes. The weight is the maximum weight of all tattoos, so you could have one tattoo of 100 weight, two of 50 weight, or 100 of one weight.
Unknown2011-04-19 14:37:17
Ahah, thank you!

Edit: One more question: if monks decide to use their tattoos as armor, are they still able to wear robes?

I think that applies to a lot of guilds. tongue.gif

- The main noun of the design must be TATTOO, with no exceptions.

I'd like to point out this is no longer the case, due to the unwieldy description line. Just whatever you're describing is fine now.

It comes out looking like:
QUOTE
Tattooed on her neck is the illustration of a tattoo of flowing divine script.

Where what's bolded is the appearance.
Shulamit2011-04-19 15:07:06
This has already been addressed.

- The main noun of a tattoo may be whatever the tattoo design pertains
to, so long as it makes sense with the player look description of the
tattoo - i.e. Tattooed on your is the illustration of appearance>.

I need to find my public pattern numbers before I can message and fix them. They changed it after I submitted them.
Janalon2011-04-19 15:18:39
Does anyone have the description of the Czignay Wayfaire basilisk? Otherwise, does this beast exist anywhere else in the game? I want to make sure my design is faithful to the Lusternia adaptation.

Yes. See the ab for AB KATA TATTOOS. There is syntax to activate tattoo based armour.

CODE
KATA - TATTOOS

Syntax: TATTOOS ARMOUR
For those monks who choose not to wear any armour of any kind (including great robes), any tattoos
on their body will be activated and be able to use as a kind of ka armour. The amount of armour
depends on the total amount of tattoo weight on the monk's body. Further, any tattoos with the
damage absorption power will be double in strength (though, again, only if not wearing armour of any
kind).

I for one plan on NOT using tattoos as my main armour. When I hit demi (and subsequently gain my second trade skill), I'll aim on picking up tailoring for splendors. Why might that be? Well, I already gain plenty of DMP from my various psymet skills, and I want to take full advantage of all the offensive tats-- namely blunt, sharp, and asphyx (IF it increases oothai damage).

Is there a way to destroy a manse completely and get a partial refund, or do I have to sell it to someone by transferring it etc?
Unknown2011-04-19 23:40:26
Sell it.
