If you switch to another monk, you shouldn't have to forget acro or kata, just the kata spec. And only harmony if you are moving to a Stealth guild.
It has nothing to do with forgetting. If you're a freshman novice and quit your guild, you lose your guild skills (automatically) and get a full lesson refund for those 3 skills.
I'm just not sure what it does to tradeskills that require those guild skills.
Sylphas2011-07-14 23:19:29
I would assume you'd keep it, but be unable to join a non-Monk guild until you forgot it, the same way guild skills work normally when switching, but that's total conjecture.

Cool, thanks again guys!
Final question, I promise (unless I have to clarify):
On second thought it isn't really simple probably, I'll just make a new thread.

Does learning more Druidry and/or LowMagic increase cudgel damage?
Does Trueshield help at all when fighting denizens and creatures, or does it just protect you from wounds better?

Is there a better way to donate commodites than for the Minister of Trade to set the buy price to zero and sell them to the warehouse?

Since Nihilism and Highmagic increase symbol damage, it should be the same for Druidry, parent pools improving the child pools.
I was told that Trueshield helps in denizen combat too, but would need someone to confirm that. I really dislike vague descriptions like that sometimes.

Agreed. Mysteriously cryptic ooh-ahh AB's help nobody.

I like the DMP list project for that, personally I'd like clean numbers and explanations on everything. One thing at a time and we can get there though.
To add in a question, I was discussion the family system with someone today. If I understand correctly, the first House to get to 200k gets to be the most powerful one until they drop below 200k. What happens if there are two other houses at 200k though, is the second that gained it going to become the most powerful, as in the follow-up being linear?
Also, if what I said before is true, what is the whole point of most powerful house, or even to be at 200k? It feels a bit ... pointless? I can see how it is a nice system to progress along for growing houses, but what is the "endgame" so to speak for those who are at 200k now.

With an Iron Membership, do the credits still give the 2.5 lessons bonus? Like, would the 100 turn into 850 lessons, or just 600? This is assuming you still get the lesson bonus, and haven't used all of it.

You get the bonus lessons when you convert unbound credits to bound credits. I don't know what kind of credits the Iron Elite Membership gives, but if they're bound credits, then no, unbound credits, yes.

The bonus is from converting unbound to bound credits, not to lessons, so I'd assume it doesn't give the extra lessons. It could, though.
Illidor2011-07-15 21:38:16
Ah, I was just a little confused about it, having been told something slightly different. The website does say bound, so that should be my answer. Thank you.

Both Nihilism and Druidy's parent pool would be Planar, not Highmagic. Spending lessons in the child pool itself is the most effective way, and fill in the parent pool afterwards.
Ssaliss2011-07-16 01:35:50
How do you know which is the parent skill? Is it basically the one whose pool is the same as the guildskill you're looking at (excluding beastmastery and aethercraft), i.e. Lowmagic for Totems and Planar for Nature?

Think it's based on the Skill Pool. idk

You don't get bonus lessons. You first get membership credits which you have to transfer to one or more of your characters. They transfer as bound credits, so there is no converting for the bonus.
The dingbats aren't sticky though. You can sell or trade them. Or keep them.

If you don't hit the target you shouldn't be gaining momentum. :/
