Have a few questions about Beastmastery, which is frustrating me right now. I need advice.

1. Does being mounted on a beast (w/o balancing) give you any extra defense/attack power? Damage mods, maybe?

2. How exactly does Majorbreath AmnesiaCloud work? I tried it in the arena, but the target wasn't affected when he walked in and out of the room, and nothing happened when he stayed still for a long time. He was on my enemy list.

3. According to the target, Battle with Aggressive did approx. 200 damage, but Minorbreath PsionicBlast did approx. 300. If that's the case, is there any point to keeping Battle and Aggressive if I keep the PsionicBlast, since they both work on the same beast balance and I can only order one at a time?

Edit: 4. Also, if I'm waterwalking am I not supposed to have to use fording (Swimming)?

Edit #2: 5. And does Balancing prevent you from getting knocked down easily in addition to summoning?

1. No. If you train trot, you have +2 rooms before you get a hasty message.

2. Once future command will be gagged. That's it. Useless skill, mainly.

3. Drop them both. And balance.

4. Don't need fording, but swimming is a prereq for diving if you want that.

5. Nope, just summon resistance.

It afflicts all enemies in the room with amnesia at the time of casting. Does not make an actual cloud in the room like plague cloud.

Is there a way to see what my triggers send to the system? It's hard finding bugs in the code if I can't even see what my triggers are trying to do.

The system in question is Nexus, and no. Changing systems is not the correct response.

Why do Illithoid speak in the common tongue? Is it understood they communicate psionically amongst their own kind, and only adopted it upon reaching the surface?

Not that I know of. I just #echo whenever I'm unsure if a trigger fired, or if I want to see what a variable is holding.

That'd help sometimes, but not in this instance. I got a lot of "What are you trying to do" responses from the script, so I wanted to know what I was trying to do. But I found a solution with some Aliases, so it's all good... though I'm still curious for later instances where Aliases can't be used to make a more effective solution.

Suspension of disbelief? Actually, I think once they psionically made connection with the Basin's surface, they acquired the ability to understand various languages, also picking up the common language. I guess... Not like they would have developed voice boxes if they primarily communicated psionically.

They didn't necessarily "develop" anything though, at least not in the evolutionary terms you're used to thinking in.

Not develop in an evolutionary sense. Like watching a baby gain gross motor skills... like learning to crawl before learning to walk. Perhaps an even better analogy would be watching language development in a toddler or language acquisition in those cases of learning a second language. Research shows it takes two years to learn language at a conversational level, up to seven years to learn language to more fully comprehend a language. However, it can take an entire lifetime to acquire certain dialects of speaking. By develop, I was referring to this level of language acquisition over time. This is me over thinking the topic.

As I said... suspension of disbelief works nicely.

How does Kephera in Splendours compare to standard warrior tank?

Does Hallifax have a "ban" on any races in regard to citizenship?

I was talking about the "developed voice boxes" part.

No. Dracnari are looked at with a degree of disdain and suspicion, but nothing institutionalized, and they're certainly allowed. Viscanti and Illithoid may or may not be subject to creepy mad-scientist experiments at some time in the future, but most people really don't care.

God. So now my question is all simple. What the hell do I train my beast to make it useful?*

It didn't work that way either?

How much skill do you have in beastmastery?

Very important question.

I have up to Healing. (Expert 67%)

Depends. It will beat out what you specified, but not warrior with fullplate/coal runes, and specifically in regard to cutting/blunt. Splendours have elemental and magic resistance which is an important bonus, though you might find more creatures do poison based attacks than you previously though... particularly in the undervault.

Any healing skill paired with ego regen is a smart idea. If you can afford to invest a few more lessons, blocking/balancing for group stare-offs (not so sure about balancing, actually, but it used to be good before summon resistances got messed with).

Influence is worth it if you don't have tons of other influence buffs.

A lot of beastmastery which is good comes later in the skill, so if you're looking from the perspective of use primarily in combat... no, you won't find a lot at your current point.

Absolutely none.
