If so because jewelry pins are meant to be worn on clothes (though why not on robes?), then I am sad for it is a silly looking piece if not worn on the head.

Huh. I'm confused about the family thing once again...
If you have parents, your family name is "NameA", but one of your parents is "NameB", can you reject "NameA" and become a "NameB"?
I think I've seen married couples do that before, if I come to think about it..
And if so, does it cost 10k and such to acknowledge?

Can't, you will always be born as part of the NameA family. You cannot have NameB as your official family unless you marry in (which is slightly weird).

I also don't think you can, because when parents have NameA and NameB, one of them "leaves" their family to join the other. So if a Dekoven marries a Talnara and takes the Talnara name, the children are part of the Talnara family, not the Dekoven, since both parents are part of the Talnara family.
