i think some of the artifacts are still being worked on.

However, the fact that the chromapens write on ANY ENVIRONMENT (once they start working) = coolness.

Immaculate, cobalt-hued metal alloy forms the shaft of this strange device, gleaming smoothly and without blemish. Slightly larger than the pedestrian writing utensil, the chromapen boasts a series of small, illuminated buttons along its side in a meticulous row, each vividly encompassing a discrete colour of the spectrum. The barrel of the pen narrows toward one end, terminating in a broad, chiseled tip of perfectly clear crystal that captures the light from within the mechanism, sliding slowly through each of the possible colours with seamless ease.

Anyania has my pouch at the moment, sorry.
Saran2010-07-25 06:35:32
so... any special syntax for the bandolier or is it just not working atm?
Raezon2010-07-25 06:45:52
You may have difficulty using the auction artifacts immediately. We're aware and working to fix that, so please be patient with us. We'll let you all know when its worked out.
Xiel2010-07-25 06:46:33
Oh. Should I not be dragging people around right now then?

Edit: Oh, and instead of double posting - if I lend the commandant stuff out, will they work for other people too or is it just me?

The Doctoral Cord of Universal Talents is braided from spun gold fibers. Each
end of the cord is tied in an intricate knot and ends with a fine tassel. Woven
throughout the cord are panels of silk in various colours, each denoting a
different field of study. A powerful arcane aura surrounds the cord.

Oh yeah.

Day zero? Really?

The auction was slated to last 200 days, and the counter began at 200 days. I would presume there'd be a 0 placeholder on the numeric counter, to be displayed at the precise moment day 1 ran out and the auction ended. Granted, some timers work in such a way that 0 might be displayed for 60 minutes and then you'd get a hash mark at the very end (or something), but then this would actually have been a 201-day auction.

Nevertheless, I can fully understand people checking to make absolutely sure. However, when some of you issued asking if there would be a "day 0," did you specify that you meant a day 0 lasting a full 60 RL minutes from the time the counter rolled over to 0?

Misunderstanding a question is not the same thing as giving out false information.

Zero day is generally understood by everyone. Elections count the zero day (a full 60 minutes IRL).

The 'day zero' is a common and well known thing that occurs in every election or referendum... asking if there is a day zero in the auction count down as well is not an unclear question. While I believe there was no intention to dispense misinformation, the fact is that this is what happened - and I feel like I'm entitled to be just a bit annoyed. Just a bit though. *shrug*

Aha, so they utilize both methods of counting down days in Lusternia. That is confusing... now I understand why people are miffed.

I've taken part in elections myself, but never checked them on zero day apparently.

Oh, absolutely. If they've used multiple different scales to measure day countdowns in Lusternia, it's completely understandable.

Alright! A few things.

a.) We are really sorry about the confusion regarding day 0. A mistaken presumption that the auction functioned on a similar timer to elections/referendums was employed to reach that conclusion, if I am to understand correctly. sad.gif

B.) The smoker's pouch, compass, chromapen, non-decay freezer, and protean spider will not work until tomorrow (sorry! Blame me if you like.)

The chromapen you will WRITE ON AIR , the protean spider you'll use the EXTRACT verb like you would milking any other poison, and the compass you'll use PATHFIND COMPASS .
Shaddus2010-07-25 07:19:34
So..... how do I change the colour on the pen?

Huh. So, if it is treated like any other extract, does that mean my artifact poisonist's gloves would have any effect? Would there finally be a side benefit, if only minor, to having them? chin.gif

Bandoliers should work properly now, as well. You should put your vials in it like any other container.
