I need to learn how to compose news posts and scrolls to provoke people into action and out of apathy.

You should read some of Pesukaru's posts to the city. He gets pissed and tries to motivate people.

To be fair, a referendum was made as to whether or not we should enemy for people interfering in raids, and it resulted in 'No'. So not anymore!

This was pretty recent. Somewhere between that and now, Narynth lost control of the commune. tongue.gif

QUOTE (Denust @ Jul 20 2010, 12:11 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
You basically spam a low-level skill at whomever the group is targeting.
  • If you are a Druid or Wiccan, spam NATURE ROOTS for the entangle.
  • If you are a Warrior, spam HEADSLAM for the brief stun.
  • If you are a Monk, spam KA LOCK > KA SNAP for limb breaks or KA HOLD > KA THROW for prone + small amount of damage and possible stun. You will need to modify your first form (the grapple) with Speed, otherwise your target will writhe free before you can Snap or Throw. Even if he does writhe, a hold will still count as hindering.
HINT: Mages and Druids do not have GRIP like Warriors and Monks do. If you snap whichever arm is holding their cudgel/staff, they'll unwield it and have to mend the arm and rewield before they can start using it again. You can catch the systemless with this trick.
  • I do not know what you can do as a Bard. Sorry. tongue.gif

Uh, it's nature vines.

Also, ka lock/snap and ka hold/throw are entirely too slow for combat by themselves.
Unknown2010-07-20 06:36:28
Nature vines, then. So what if I forget syntax every now and then? It's only been a year or so since I played a Druid. tongue.gif

As for the ka moves, I can do a ka hold/toss before my target auto-writhes if I use a speed modifier on the Hold. Admittedly, that's out of combat against a non-Acrobat (but someone with a system), so I'm sorry if the extrapolation doesn't hold for Real CombatTM.

EDIT: And easily, my testing could be wrong somehow. I won't rule that out.

If it's the same incident that I'm thinking of, you know as much as I do that every org has their over-zealous enemyers. While it's unfair, it's also not new or surprising tongue.gif

What is surprising is going to the trouble of finding Glom witnesses and having it stand anyways.

Narynth lost control. Her ministers no longer see her as influential. Sad fact. Kinda liked her. Don't like admitting it on the forums, because I can see Celina strutting in her chair already. Still the truth!

I can safely say that in the two plus years I was in Serenwilde, I never saw anything near that bad. No idea what its like since this last December.

At least for the time I was there, I always rolled my eyes at the "snugglewilde" comments, because for the longest time, the two most severe things of that nature I saw were an incident in the Magnagoran stage (people take bards there! Let alone actually use the place), and a couple of gloms.

Generally though, "all of org A is X" comments are pretty broadly and bluntly the ignorance of "wanting to believe a poorly founded opinion", or just plain ol' stupid, in the OOC context. It takes all types.

Now, how much people can get away with in public, that's something the orgs can have a say in.

Don't get me wrong, I've never taken the snugglewilde comments I've heard that seriously. I more judge the individual not the group in general. What I will judge, though, is how the leadership of an org handles those people and events. Idiocy like that... really doesn't need to exist, regardless of what your org beliefs are. If it happened in Gaudi, which is the city of freedom, love, sensuality, ect, ect, I'd still be super pissed and want them severely punished if not removed just for ruining my meal/day.

Some may consider it a harsh reaction, but it's the one I'd expect my leadership to take. If they don't take action, it makes me assume that they tolerate it, and that makes me not want to be under their command. If stuff like that is happening more frequently of late and retellings of these little incidences are getting around, I wouldn't be surprised in the least if anyone who has a serious desire and ability for PK would avoid the org like the plague.

He pulled that same crap in other places, basically being annoying to the point of "look, either leave or die".

I don't hang out at Mother often enough or long enough for it boil me over the edge into enemying him. I probably should, just sit around and play angry babysitter for a few days.

Why would it need to do that?

Tell Geralden look. I realize we're awesome and all, but you need to hang out in your own home or in a manse. Now.

Geralden tells you, "But I'm just here, I'm not causing any trouble."

Tell Geralden I said go find somewhere else. Do I need to have the guards escort you out?

It's your home, Sylphas. You don't have another. Are you going to let this non-citizen make you angry enough to not be there? It's not his home. Send him packing.

You leave Narynth alone you big jerkcrowface!

Narynth's stern face is a force to be reckoned with, and even Celina knows that. She simply can't be bothered to bring it out for every inconsequential thing, and in this case I doubt she's even aware of your issue. I would suggest bribing her with pastries and flowers and asking politely in-character to clear this up for you. One catches more flies with inflammatory posts about our beloved leader honey, after all.

Narynth was made aware and chose to do nothing. tongue.gif

Ardmore pretty much came out and said that going against Celina's whims was more trouble for him than anything Narynth has in writing, which piqued my curiosity and had me go intelligence gathering through the alt army. I don't think the commune is about to rally behind Celina or anything, but Narynth's not you. tongue.gif

Regarding Everiine's log a few pages back: I actually wanted numerous times to say something to Katii when she was living in Magnagora, because she had a horrible motto, something about eating cookies. Now, I suppose from one point of view it could be seen as just crazy taint stuff, but I never noticed it that way.

Also, if Ongaku ever caught Geralden acting like that, he would make sure Nariah knew about it posthaste. That kind of behaviour from a Nihilist in a public setting - whether Magnagora or Serenwilde... no, ESPECIALLY in Serenwilde, they have an image to uphold in front of allies! - is NOT cool. mad.gif

And yes, I agree with Shaddus. If Geralden is causing issues like that, enemy his arse.

Weird. Well, keep your nose clean and try talking to her at some later time. After these things have fallen out of the recent memory is generally best.

Geralden isn't from gaudiguch and hasn't been for RL months.

Edit:: Also we already get kicked out of Serenwilde often enough. Ironically, when we are there helping defend Serenwilde. Which is why most of us just don't bother anymore and it's not like Serenwilde ever returns the favour... which is why most of us are discussing dropping the treaty and kicking the crap out of Serenwilde ourselves. biggrin.gif gg keeping up good relations, Serenwilde

Well... in their defense it's hard to please everyone, even though they try really hard.

The sluts.

Sorry, Mimi. ;-;

To throw my two cents into the thing about Gaudiguch being unhappy with Serenwilde...
... I can't remember the last time someone that wasn't Sadie thanked any of us for going. Given, most times they're shooting snide comments to Sadie about how I'm not welcome there because I lower morale, but hey. Like Shaddus said, can't please everyone!

Given Viynain pulverized me a few days ago for defending Serenwilde, I like to think I was making some sort of substantial presence, non? Though now I'm working on seeing if Glom will even entertain unenemying me, which means Ulviistra is probably the only Gaudi left that'll go help. But given what I've seen, Serenwilde thinks it can take care of itself without any allies helping, obviously.

Excuse the snide bit at the end. I'm harmless and it's late.

EDIT:
And before I forget, the thing about stupid titles.

I had the (yes, ridiculous) Cutemancer title for a while there, and I was mocked and teased from here to there and back about it. But here's my take on those.

Think of it like this: If your little sister decided to do your hair in a bazillion pigtails, looped some ribbon on them, and made your head look like something sparkly exploded. People who see you will probably think "Wow, what an idiot." But if it makes my sister happy, I don't really care, you know? It doesn't affect who I am or what I do in the least, and it makes her smile when I come home which ends up infinitely more important than what the other people think.
And titles aren't nearly as bad. More like if your sister decorated a nametag for a conference with bright colors and glitter. So... Again, so what?

Sylphas seemed very genuinely happy that I went to help defend and very genuinely sorry that it ended the way it did. I was actually taken a little aback by how much it seemed to mean to him. I haven't expressed that kind of gratitude to anyone for a couple years.
