And after you buy it you don't have to do any stupid grinding to get access to all the characters and buffs. (It does have unlocks, but they're all purely cosmetic.)
LoL still does the skins better. HoN needs to catch up on that front.

So I decided to buy Karma yesterday, definately not a bad thing. Been having some fun with her though it tends to be Assisst central. The Teemo on my team got a Quad-kill and I was sitting there after dying (for some reason they target Karma over Teemo) and got 4 assists. Needless to say, Karma is a beast. Also as a side note, Lux is still my favorite!

People sometimes underestimate how much damage Teemo can plink away for. Especially when you get to a point in the game where you have to decide whether to stack Hextech Gunblades for the lols or not.

Hi. I'm able to play again, but I'm no good, and won't be actually playing till I get the handle of it in a couple of Practice Games.
Huroku if you want to add me.

Either I get teamed up with idlers, leavers, laggers, non-English-speakers, team-ragers, egocentrics or plain noobs even worse then me, and if I don't get such wonderful team mates, then I end up being the one that feed.

Should definitely join our Sylphas games with his WoW friends. I'm still glowing from our epic turn-around the other day (and coordinating things on Vent makes such a huge difference!)

What Wuy said. Games with Aliod and company are also usually pretty epic.

I used to play this game a lot, but 10 minutes to get into a game, 10 with passive laning to start, and 15 at the end where the match is already decided, made me realize what a massive waste of time it is. I would spend like 10 / 55 minutes per game having fun :X
Unknown2011-02-22 17:44:48
True, but I don't think I'd have gotten into this game if it weren't for Ventrilo and playing with people I know. Spending those idle minutes smack-talking other players and occasionally gossiping about Lusty - that's what it's all about Join usss

I'd agree with the 10 minutes of passive laning if you were talking DotA or HoN, but LoL is much faster paced. If you're bored for the first and last fifteen minutes your team is not doing it right.

Good laning in LoL means not pushing... there might, or might not, be a few seconds of action when the jungler comes down, but otherwise, it's not my idea of a good time. I got up to 1550 solo ELO without seeing any change in that area.
I think it's better, not worse, in other games because a jungle gank is not as effective while pushing is more effective. The problem with LoL is that pushing your opponents to their turret doesn't allow you to deal a significant amount of damage to the turret, you only push well after the other player(s) are dead, because a single champ can neutralize 2-3 creep waves at once.
I know part of it is that I played solo and so my teams weren't always on the same page, but a game should be playable solo.

LoL favours pushing a lot more than HoN and DotA. You cannot deny in LoL and there is no such thing as creep pulling. The tower does more damage, but it also gets destroyed faster.

It doesn't matter if you're queuing by yourself, you shouldn't be playing solo. A lot of my losses are from people doing their own thing and not listening to sound advice and screwing their team over.
You have many, many more opportunities in LoL to use your skills before mid game, because mana isn't nearly as tight, and you have champions like Vlad and the ninjas who can just spam away without worrying. There are plenty of heros in HoN where you don't even have your full combo on base mana until level six or so. LoL, on the other hand, has plenty of level one 2v2 fights in lane, and you can start using your skills immediately.
