I think that was, like, the one consensus in the overview thread.

friend tells you, "Well this just about killed my motivation to play."
You tell friend, "'splain?"
friend tells you, "Yeah, I can't buy -any of this stuff-."
friend tells you, "At all."

So, for those of us who won't be benefitting from 2-3 times as many weight points and aren't sitting on massive essence piles, how about letting us buy our 50 weight points of supernumaries for free at the start here. As a compromise for the "do not want and never did" crowd.

I have enough to get what I felt was immediately important, and I can set a goal for the other stuff, but there's plenty of people below me that just took the shaft much worse.

Not to mention that this change just further incentivises us to join steamroller orgs. Die less, keep your essence more, and have better access to high gain aether hunts.

And instead of inhibiting divine fire, we just made it lopsided.

A for effort.
A for shininess.
D for impact.

Wouldn't it be nice for Seal-Bearers to be able to pick 1 power from their Domoth?

TAs get all 3; this would be a neat perk for having one. And it would be nice for it to work for Demis (not just Vernal Demis) too, no?

Well, everyone saw it coming. A large amount of additional bashing to get back less than half of what we had before. Woo...

Don't even know what took it so long, can't be especially time consuming to move things from 'demigods have it' to 'demigods have to bash hours to get it' and add in a little bit of customization that the code probably already had elsewhere (for admins).

But thats my last negativity on the subject, like I said, saw it coming a mile away and braced myself for it laugh.gif Maybe it'll improve the game a little bit, even if I feel like my demigod effort was a huge waste of time.

What about people who already had an approved zap? Are those just.. gone now? And we have to redo it? =/

You'll need to buy the skill, but the approval is still intact. It will not be erased, even if you remove the skill and add it later on.

I'm totally not on the negative side of the fence, despite being part of The Steamroller. It all looks really cool, and it makes me want demigod so much more now. Now to just hop on one of those innumerable aetherhunts I keep hearing about.

This was actually a very time-consuming and difficult project as the framework for whole new systems had to be coded. Not to mention some wrinkles came up that made coding take longer than we expected. Frankly, I think the coders on this project should be applauded for a job well done!

Oh man, I totally wouldn't say that given how easy bashing is here compared to other IRE games (got Dragon twice on Achaea here). The bigger penalties for endgame skills sound quite fine.

I don't think it is 100% terrible, I do think it's :censor: that demigods only get 50 points to spend on :censor: and the items are ungodly expensive. Remove level cap and use essence to buy more levels to get more points to spend in the demigod shop.

Ephemeral powers exist so you can bypass the cap if you have enough essence to maintain buying the powers every year.

I thought one of the concerns about this whole thing was people getting shafted at the start of it, but obviously that got swallowed in the tide of, "BUT UZ CAN ALWAYS AETHERBASHEZ."

This is not true, I have a job, I have a life and I rarely get to sit and stare mindlessly at the computer for up to 8 hours at a time without wanting to slam my forehead against it, nor do I have the balls to AFK it which is still being done I bet. These prices are so insane that I will never be able to buy any of it. well i take that back, I might be able to safely buy Shrink/Expand.

So as far as I am concerned all that announce 1609 did, is solidify Aetherbashing as the only means to fund this fat pig.

I realize that but I don't really see it as cost efficient or beneficial.

Is new divinefire the same as the old divinefire?
Esano2010-08-10 00:39:02
One thing that I would find useful is the ability to select supernumerary powers without paying the essence cost, but rather having to pay that cost to drop the power (so you can't just juggle them around).
