So is the main issue the cost? As the admins are still working on some of these what is the word on the chance of the cost being adjusted?

One thing that I would find useful is the ability to select supernumerary powers without paying the essence cost, but rather having to pay that cost to drop the power (so you can't just juggle them around).
This. This would help a lot of hurt players (see aliod above) who feel incredibly shafted- not only did they just lose powers that many can't readily gain back, but the gap between the haves and the have-nots just got a little wider. Or a lot wider.
And I thought the consensus was "divine fire should go die in one."

Wow.
What's up with Aegis taking 50 weight?

Seconded, or thirded, or however many we are at now, regarding the whole "choose powers for free to start".

I realize that but I don't really see it as cost efficient or beneficial.
That's one of my concerns as well. I realize some of our younger players might be on summer break and have plenty of time to aetherhunt dragons ( the only reasonable way I can see you maintaining some of those ephermerals ) but the rest of us have jobs and lives. I can pull in 2 mil a night in about 2.5 hours, but most people don't have even that time, never mind a ship and a decent crew (except Glom).
So.... make powers cost 50% when ephemeralizing! *beg*

Same as zap taking 30. A bit heavy, and I sure as heck won't buy it.

Divinefire hasn't changed. We felt the new cost for divinefire balanced its power.
I'm certainly open to reviewing the costs at some point but as the system *just went in*, I'd like to give it some time to settle before making changes indiscriminately.

How long until we see essence purchasable with credits?
Unknown2010-08-10 00:50:06
This seems...opposite...of the intended effect of changing Demigods. Instead of being rebalanced and changed so Demigod feels meaningful, but not overpowering, it's been changed so not ONLY does Titan feel even LESS significant, but Demigods can barely manage to have a fraction of what they had with intense effort...unless you are Xenthos, Ragniliff or Lendren...
Razenth2010-08-10 00:51:14
No, take Ragniliff and Lendren out of there. The people in the top 10 or 20 aren't bounded by essence, we have oodles of it. I have 180 mil and I'm 9. We're bounded by the fact that we're Demigods and can only have 50 weight.

It has been for quite a while now Just ask Shuyin or Krellan (I think it was Krellan anyway. Or Xenthos. I always get those two confused for some reason).

Out of curiosity, when are VA changes and power debts and such coming in?
Kante2010-08-10 00:52:06
I like how this solidifies the difference between the RP crowd and the PvP crowd with mechanics.

I notice the custom syntaxes have numbers in them. Does that mean that they aren't really custom, but you pick from a list? Or can you have multiple messages saved and you pick from your own list?

I believe we're giving a week for cities and communes to make decisions on whether or not to adjust their numbers of Vernals.

Is there a chance to get the list for the look and enter powers before choosing the power? My essence is extremely limited, and I'd rather not buy a power "just to see the list"...
Lothringen2010-08-10 00:55:33
I think buying back the +1 stats is a little ridiculous, personally. The 'reward' of 'achieving' demigod has been so nerfed into the floor, and it only opens up a further essence grind to get any meaningful skills. At least give the +2 back - it's not a significant factor in combat, but it's a huge alleviation to the new grind requirement.
And delete divinefire.

We could use a final run-down of numbers, how fast the power will be drained to pay the debt, etc; this hasn't been fully explained as of yet so it's rough to make any choices.
Glom's on the verge of being able to keep 3, depending on certain factors...
