Oh please, considering you come from the org that was churning out demi's left and right on the aether express, many of whom came to the forums gloating about the awesome aetherhunts Glomdoring always has that churns out demis, you are in no position to even consider the "oh poor me essence is so hard to come by" angle.

which org hasn't churned out aetherspace demi's? Yeah, Glom has churned out a bunch, but so has everyone else, I mean Kalin is an aetherspace demi

(waits for the we haven't pumped out as many as you argument)

Which is a perfectly valid argument. Nor have I complained about how hard it is to get essence. Good job of missing the point though.

heh, you seemed to have missed the point as well, Essence is easy to get sure, it's just time consuming, which is pretty much what everyone has been saying, even aetherbashing, it's still time consuming. I know you can sit here and say, 'well how time consuming can it be if you're just afking on a module, but afking on a module means you aren't doing other things either, so again, it's time consuming, not hard to come by

No. It is more costly than a preset zap/shout, however, just to encourage people to buy the preset ones (so we have less approving to do and more coding/building/biscotti making time)

I see. So your approval is worth 10 million essence. rolleyes.gif

Now, if many people opt to get the preset ones, I'd really really really really really love to see:

- Learning messages for the skillsets that don't have them
- Bugs that have existed for a long time get fixed
- everything else that has been lagging behind

Yus. I ooze bitterness.
Furien2010-08-11 15:46:17
You really do.

And you also really need to get over it.

Yus. I ooze bitterness.

Likewise. I've got a half-year old bug hasn't been fixed yet sad.gif And (without looking at the code) it doesn't seem to be a complicated fix either...

I won't, for now. suspicious.gif

That's fine. If all you're going to add to a thread is bitterness and caustic loathing with a sprinkling of snide remarks and sarcasm, you can simply not post in it. Thanks!
Siam2010-08-11 15:56:43
Well, at least some of the sarcastic posts have points attached to them.

Which is nothing but disheartening to everyone involved, and no way to thank the people that spent weeks coding this thing in.

I'm talking about zeh learning messages and the bugs. I'm partly resigned to the fact that the changes will most likely stay the way they are, still, I want to air my hurtz.

Also, it does not really make the valid(partly or fully) points less valid.

It makes the whole thing less worthwhile and totally disinclines admin from reading your posts. At the rate you're going, it totally disinclines them from listening at all - you're airing your rampant butthurt (along with the tears of your organization's entire playerbase) not only in your posts, but signature and member title as well.

Seriously. Taking it a bit too hard, there.
Sylphas2010-08-11 16:38:33
From an outsider's perspective, 12 custom zaps/shouts in the queue makes it look like you can't find five minutes to read a few paragraphs. I'm really hoping it's vastly more complicated than reading them and typing in "ACCEPT SHOUT" or something, because otherwise you just look lazy. I know you're not, which means you probably need to rework the way acceptance works. Hell, give it to the mortal reviewers, maybe. It's not like it's a dozen per day or something. Even with aspace you don't get demis that fast, or we'd have 1k+ by now.
Unknown2010-08-11 18:35:05
Ah right, I know that Veneration costs 70 mil to buy and grants you the ability to start cults, but I've heard that you have to further spend 120 million essence to trans it? Like old ascendance?

If this is true, can you guys at least put the essence used by Ascendants into Ascendance into that? The missing 80 million that we've been clamoring about?

I would still like the rest of the refund to me, though.

The mortal review system is a bit of a failed experiment, if you ask me. There's nothing more dangerous than partial knowledge, and there are reviewers out there who illustrate this beautifully. Still, I'd rather tolerate questionable reviewers than have all other development tasks grind to a halt, simply because most trade descs have only the flimsiest connection to the wider world. A shout and zap are more in-your-face.

As always, you could have those in less than a week if you wrote them today. Ask people who study Harmonics and Aeonics.

Unfortunately there's 117 demigod+ currently active. Right now we allow custom shouts and custom zaps, both of which require approval. Before we stopped approving them, we had more than a dozen approvals sitting in the queue. That's just too much as-is for approving. Adding in enter/exit, look, teleport... It's just way too much. Sorry.

There's 27 options, 3 designed around each domoth. So there's a lot of choices, but you cannot write your own.

No offence, but how hard can it be to approve two lines of writing, one for entering and one for exiting?
Noola2010-08-11 21:16:47
At least change the names of the ones you can't actually customize (teleports, looks, etc.) cause calling them 'Custom' and then not letting folks customize them, is kinda misleading. sad.gif

My initial reaction to this post is to throw a few curses at you, considering that this is untrue for a lot of people, and that there's more than just a bit of sour grapes leading to "Haha" in this quoted statement.

Which I suppose indicates how badly I need to get away from this thread again for a while.

I realize some people managed to get it "legitimately" before the aetherbash train, but all that means is that you had more patience than everyone else. I've never really been clear on why bashing to 100 should give you combat advantages anyway. (NB. I am not suggesting that fighting should give you combat advantages either) You haven't done anything to deserve them apart from waste a lot of time on a really boring activity. I'm glad they nerfed Demipowers, now they just need to delete Divinefire and all will be right with the world.
Ixion2010-08-11 21:21:39
If the debts are "set" within a week, we're going to see a ton descend or orgs will be locked in at owing multiple millions to be drained. Heh...
