Was told to post an idea if I had it, so here I am. Aetolia has this, and I believe it'll be beneficial here as well:
QUOTE
Survival - Clotting
Syntax: CLOT
CLOT <#>
This will permit you to partially clot your bleeding. CLOT <#> will
attempt to clot a specific amount of bleeding, in multiples of 20 units.
Thus, CLOT 10 will attempt to clot 200 units of blood.

I brought this up on more than one occasion and nothing came of it. Bards were against it, because they want to see the manabarbs spam, apparently.
Edit: But I'm totally for it. I want this so bad. =(
Edit2: AS LONG AS IT'S NOT FORCEABLE!!!!!!!!

odd, I thought it already worked like that. If not, I'm all for it.
Eldanien2010-08-04 18:27:02
Consider its effect under aeon-like afflictions. Many of the aeon-reliant guilds have and make use of bleeding to varying degrees of effectiveness.
I like the idea, myself. But it's not -just- an aesthetics change.

That's what I was thinking too.
Ardmore2010-08-04 18:45:17
Oh jeesh, I didn't even think of that. Yeah that would be really bad. :s

More of those aeon-based archetypes rely on low mana to kill you, so it's a trade-off?
Calixa2010-08-04 19:03:22
I'm all for it if it can be implemented in a balanced way.
Shaddus2010-08-04 19:16:05
It would still take the same amount of mana, just in one burst as opposed to smaller, multiple ones.
Clotting/outrifting shouldn't be effected in aeon/choke/sap anyway, imho. >.>

Good thing your opinion doesn't count!
Unknown2010-08-04 19:17:45
Right, but the reason I do my clotting individually now is so I can check my mana after each one. If you do them all at once, you'll want to calculate how much it'll cost versus how much you're bleeding and see if it's worth it at that time.

There's always chervil too, really, it's a tough call as to how much of a change it would be. It's like if you have the time to do it, clot 10/sip mana/sparkle or just chervil for the time being. At present time I don't know of anyone that actually uses clot/clot/clot in choke and if they do I don't understand why.
Unknown2010-08-04 19:30:29
If you can do much more in Choke than get a lucky first shot or tumble out, I'm already impressed.
Chervil doesn't stop much more bleeding, and it is two commands unless you are prepared for the aeon effects with the pre-outrift.

Druids wouldn't really be ok with bleeding in sap all of a sudden not working right.

That was more my concern than choke though really if you can do enough to keep bleeding off in sap wouldn't you be better off just curing the one or two afflictions keeping you from curing sap?
@iasmos: I actually enjoy fighting in choke outside of groups zerging me with it. I use either a pre-outrift or just outrift as I go. Really the only hindering affs are one command cures so in the meantime of outfitting you could hinder as well. As a Mage outside of meld I would just keep phantoms and claws going and use leglock/manta dagger in conjunction with trip and burst and generally the choker would end up running before me. Fun times. As necromancer I'd just keep up coldaura/contagion use disfigure, crucify at the opportune time making sure they were offbal and sacrifice. It's really pretty entertaining. I've come up with a few different tactics for if I were to be the choker as well I would like to test. Maybe one of these days.

That's actually my biggest concern with implementing the clot change, but I feel that it's more a problem with the idea of druids than anything else.

What I wouldn't give for a couple decent passive (and mobile) effects some days...
Vadi2010-08-04 20:02:41
If you like the old way, then it'll still be there.
Unknown2010-08-04 20:06:02
That's not the issue. The issue is that some people try to kill you with bleeding, especially with sap, and you could shrug it off ten times more easily by combining the commands into one.

I'm still looking for the same thing too, buddy. I just try to make due with what I have.
