Our decision is really easy now that every one of our vernals other than Lehki and Iasmos is playing in Gaudiguch. As much as I love you, you're on the block the same as all of our other inactives, regardless of how they would have implemented it. If you were still playing Nejii all the time, it would be a harder choice. I'm not even sure why we're discussing it on IMC.

Right, that's the system as it is now - if you're not an active combatant you shouldn't be keeping it. Given the original vision it could have been much more than that, but it's too late now.

@Xenthos: I didn't fail to bring up Malicia, Gregori, potentially Esano etc. for any particular reason, for the record! I just didn't feel like making a complete list.

That's not nice, Gregori. sad.gif I understand the dilemma. No one wants to hurt a friend and most people in orgs are also friends - especially if they're at the VA level. Making fun of folks who feel bad cause they have to figure out some way of not hurting a friend isn't very nice at all and I'm kinda disappointed in you for being like that. sad.gif

All I know to say is, they should feel fortunate that they aren't going to end up a plain old demigod when they get descended. Hell, they still end up above the rest. How unfortunate, right.

Unless the Veneration stuff is utterly flavorful and awesome and nobody understands that because only one god in one org has cults, I would say that the difference in selection between VA and Demigod is depressing. It's not a bad consolation prize, I guess, but it is a consolation prize, and I think the exact weight advantage is up for debate right now.

...you do get to keep your current essence when you drop though, right? Did we establish that?

A problem just came up in Seren. We can only descend one ascendant at time and each needs full council approval. And I can't imagine it'll take less then 2-3 days each to get all the circle to show up and descend somebody.

EDIT: well, maybe not 2-3 days each, but it honestly wouldn't surprise me if it took that long.
Shiri2010-08-11 17:29:28
That does sound like a problem given the deadlines. At least we have a Shofangi GM now.
seron2010-08-11 17:33:08
My question is what's so different about descending all of them and having an election and just descending them yourselves? either way the commune picks who isn't going to be an ascendant the results are the same.
Lehki2010-08-11 17:33:39
Actually on second thought, since we're just going to be dealing with a drain over a long time, instead of an instant reduction, it's not actually going to change anything. o,o

Unless like this debt is set AT the 7 day mark and descending somebody after wouldn't change what we owe, but that would be silly. D:

Your debt's set once we start the drain. Descending people further will only give you an extra 500k power, and not affect the total owed.

Would it? Otherwise you could keep people on for a while after and then descend them at an unspecified later date and just never pay the debt after having them stay a VA for ages.

Unless I'm being dumb because it's really late and I'm tired.
Lehki2010-08-11 17:38:08
I wasn't sure about that part and was being a little sarcastic, sorry. xP

But, damn, now yeah. How many days left? Because we still haven't gotten the council to all show up and descend our first ascendant.

Lehki is Seren, not Glom.

I'm talking about Seren, not glom. I don't know how active all their GMs are, but wouldn't be surprised if it was an issue over there too.

Meanwhile, people are still worrying about culture, politics, writing things to submit to the library, theater productions, elections, and this little thing called roleplay that only appears when we aren't churning our every effort into VA issues.

My answer to your question is IDFK, but the suspense is just awful and no one knows how to generate a solution that everyone will be happy with.

So, really, people just have to accept that people are going to be unhappy and do something about it.

Well, I realize you're upset, so I'm just going to back away from it.

Brilliant move. Your jokes and specific references to an organization really make your forum image as a player-neutral, non-biased admin!

Well, I'm sorry you feel that way. I'll certainly back off the conversations then. confused.gif

I haven't noticed any jokes or unfair specific references made by Eventru in this thread actually. dunno.gif
Vathael2010-08-11 18:28:25
I lol'd

I don't understand how anyone is getting more shafted than anyone else, I think we are all pretty pissed over the whole deal. You all may be having more to do than any other org but it's.. Not that bad. Like I said you still end up demigod++.
Unknown2010-08-11 18:32:32
Well.

I understand that everyone's upset, and while I suppose this is one way to address the 'voting off the island' issue, the execution leaves much to be desired. Making a forum thread and asking for a wide sweeping change for all orgs and then admitting to venting just screams 'troll me' :/ Which is what's happened for a lot of the posts.

I think everyone's made a lot of good points, but I don't think the admin will do this just because they already have a lot on their plate on top of general player hate.

I mean, I think what can be taken from this is that the demis/ascendants/vernal demis have a lot of 'taking it' to do, but I hope the admin realize that they aren't really happy to do it, heh.
