I realised, as midnight ticked over, that I might not have six tailoring designs to make this year. Three cartel, sure, I can use those. But the three public?
So. Here, I have an offer. Post a design here (the more complete the better!), and someone with a spare slot can submit it as a public design. Please don't post private designs here - you should directly contact the trademaster of a cartel for that. I can't guarantee that someone else won't submit the design.
Trademasters, if you do submit a design, remember to post here so everyone knows. We don't want unnecessary duplicates! And remember to mark the "designedby" tag.
I currently have a tailoring cartel, but it's possible other trademasters will offer their slots - post it up here and see.
I fully expect for more designs to be taken up towards the end of the year, when people are realising they have slots left.
As I said before, the more complete a design is, the better. I'm lazy. If I like the idea behind a design, I might write it out, but otherwise, I probably won't. So, you do so! Appearance, dropped, examined, commodities, the extras for certain types, the lot. See HELP TRADEMASTERS for guidelines.
As possible inspiration (see how many weird things you can think up!) here's the current design commodities list:
Not all commodities can be used in all design types. Can't make chocolate. Vanilla should uses spices, obsidian should use inferno beetles.
Get cracking! And a pre-emptive "sorry and thank you!" to the Charites and mortal reviewers!

Oooh! Nice idea Esano!
I trademaster two bookbinding cartels and if you have a public bookbinding design (including sorcelglass), feel free to post it and if I haven't used the six public slots I have (which I rarely do!) I'll plug em in!

Four trademaster slots. One private bookbinding, city bookbinding, cooking, and artisan cartels. I never use public slots (I just...dunno. I'm weird like that. All designs must be private, and money draining! Bah). Anyone who wants them, can have em...as long as the city slots are vaguely hallifaxian, despite being public...they are still using the cartel slots.
Unknown2010-08-12 14:54:09
Artisan cartel. Never use public. GOGO.

Same here. City artisan cartel, nobody ever wants public designs.
Harkux2010-08-12 15:42:52
I have a cooking cartel with basically always open public slots, since they never get used. We fancy private designs better.
Shiri2010-08-12 15:46:03
Bookbinding cartel I only still have because it's used so infrequently no one tries to take the slot off me
Furien2010-08-12 15:46:05
I'm curious- do we include 'flower' as part of a design's comms to blanketly cover any flowered plant that isn't already in the game as an actual object?
Lendren2010-08-12 22:35:38
I have four artisan, one tailor, and one jewelry cartel, and none of any of their public slots ever get used.
Xiel2010-08-12 22:43:05
One artisan, one bookbinding, one forging, one jewelry, two tailoring and four cooking cartels all with public slots available as well.
Aoife2010-08-13 01:12:35
Two tailoring, public slots are open.
Aramel2010-08-13 04:03:53
Tailoring cartel, 3 public designs. Go!

Since this is a semi-design thread.
Metal. We have Iron and Steel.
I heard a rumor somewhere you can use one or both of these for copper and bronze. Can someone confirm? Going out on a limb, how about Tungsten?

Not really the place for it but here!
Item: Necklace Type: Necklaces Org: Gargoyles
Commodities: ruby 10 amethyst 10 gold 2 platinum 4 steel 2 iron 1 silver 1
Mortal Reviews: Allowed
IMPORTANT: The main noun MUST use one of these: NECKLACE
Appearance:
a necklace set with a jewelled pendant of antique gears
Dropped:
An antique necklace of gears has been tossed aside here.
Examined:
Crafted from salvaged materials and meticulously restored, the superior
craftsmanship of this breathtaking necklace is evident in every fine
detail. The pendant is crafted from antiquated gears of bronze, copper,
silver and gold and set artfully on a resplendent platinum filigree
base. Small carnelian and amethyst gems have been set into the various
gears as bearings. Two artfully detailed scarabs connect the pendant to
a circular platinum ring which slips comfortably around any neck and is
intended to drape across one's collarbone.

Any metal. Personally, just for the aesthetics of it, I'd use gold for things like copper and bronze, and iron or steel for things like tin and tungsten. Cause gold looks closer to copper and bronze than iron does. But, theoretically, you can just use iron for any non-comm metal.

Unless I misunderstood the purpose of the thread, it's totally the place! Now someone with a jewelery cartel will prolly stick that in one of their public slots for you! Not me, cause I don't have one, but someone will!

It belongs to a cartel already, she was showing that bronze and all that can be done.

Officially, iron is used as the substitute for all metals we don't have (most commonly copper, brass, and bronze).
