I would, except there's no such thing as a fair solo fight against a Researcher. Researcher drops resonance and four rubies, target has to (literally has to, because there's no cure) run an average of twenty rooms just to get to a baseline state, then gets to cure off the timewarp. Sixteen seconds is not enough time to build an offense, and ten seconds of running is more than enough time to clear sixteen seconds of offense.
But hey, let's keep talking about badluck.
But hey, let's keep talking about badluck.
Ohm, one takes 5 rubies with 10 power resonance (7 rubies without). You can cure out of the massive timewarp before I regain balance, unless I do more to build your timewarp to moderately before I shatterplex. So again, if you keep timewarp down (which I have no way of keeping on you with the way the mechanic is outside of the normal means of hindering curing) you have nothing to fear from shatterplex. I demonstrated such to Wuylinfe in a FFA, where he shatterplexed me and I cured up the timewarp before he recovered and I shatterplexed him (where I build up timewarp to a significant level before I used it) and he died from TimeQuake. I also told him he forgot the lesson I taught him about Shatterplex right after.
Also, I did not use rubies nor shatterplex on Gregori at all. The damage was from the wand and him being a masochist and violently ill.
Oh and you want me to add shatterplex to the list of things I will not do? Sure, I will add that as long as you do not use BadLuck. So what is the contract? I will not use Healing but succor on you to see where your afflictions are, and will not use rubies nor shatterplex on you as long as you do not use BadLuck.

You should post the log of the loss, thereby proving that aeonics is overpowered, naturally. Any argument to the counter would clearly be the result of over defensive or vitriolic bias of course. This is dealt with with attack upon the person, because envoy-liefest knows no sacred ground.
See- pyro/aero report. Gaudis are defensive with good precedent. The last time we weren't, "needed nerf" became lynch the one, and raise the other quite far up.
Consider the following-
Using Greg's badluck/paradigmatics curing (which is the only relevant portion of his curing for the purposes of these posts- in fact, if his curing has failures in other areas, it would only reinforce that badluck is utterly managable- because someone with "bad curing" could code around it), anyway, using Greg's curing, against him using Paradigmatics much as Egran did in the original log, I was able to kill him with TK vessels.
What does this show?
-If you're in the "lets pretend to be resonable while trying to ram an opposing skillset into the ground" side of it, it proves nothing, and was the result of a flukish statistical improbability.
-If you're on the gaudi side of the argument, it demonstrates that badluck is managable and nobody should complain ever.
-If you're a glom, it proves TK is overpowered- who cares about whatever the hell Gaudi and Halli are arguing about.
What it actually shows? Kalin's paradigmatics curing is sufficient to protect me against paradigmatics offense, and badluck did not hinder me enough to lock out my psionics offense. You'll draw from that whatever you will.

Also are we pretending that bedevil doesn't help affliction stacking or something?
Also #2 = yeah, actually, depending on your tertiary as an Illuminati having someone off balance for "18 seconds" might not net you a kill. If the target is curing okay (!) they wouldn't be in this situation in the first place, ostensibly, but you won't be able to stack up massive insanity. So you'd have to rely on Soulless or Meteor. Is Kalin Hexes nowadays? I can never remember.

So as I said when I accepted your initial challenge in this thread "I probably need hallifax lines anyways." Turns out the only line for harmonics I have is ruby tracking. So I guess you are right, my curing was bad, but as bad as my curing was, it was still capable of keeping you from beating me.

When did anyone said Bedevil does not help stacking afflictions. That is its point, to help stack afflictions. What I offered was that I would not use it, and still no answer. So if bedevil that has a cure is too much of a problem for him, hey I will not use it if he does not use badluck. Also, I hope he is not hexes, because if that is so he is definitely not using his abilities to their maximum potential.

Seriously, you are tarot? That is the best Tertiary for Illuminati and meshes well with the balance loss you can stack.

Shatterplex is power-free. Rubies build passive timewarp. You have Aeonics for more passive timewarp. You don't see the interplay here? Do it once, you've got a good chance to kill (plus the nice little bonus of having succor). Do it twice, with passive aeon hindering the curing thanks to extended quicksilver time, there's nothing to do about it. Congrats!
Anyways, no. I have no interest in your little social contracts. I have interest in balance. Paradigmatics has two really good skills, and they both definitely need power costs. I still insist that whispers is far and away the worse of the two. Badluck doesn't even cramp my style. It's a little more hindering than diamond, and it's exactly as lethal as diamond (read: it's not).
I'm not on board with Gregori's desire to keep two skills as the center of Paradigmatics, but that's because I remember life as a druid, and not because I look at Paradigmatics and go "omfg this is out of control." Aeonics will also slap people with a 33% offensive failure rate, thanks to its defensive abilities. It seems less extreme, because it's spread over several abilities, many of which you can prepare before going in, but the end result is very similar. The main difference here is that Paradigmatics applies it to the target, whereas Aeonics defends the caster. The finer details (focus mind balance loss vs. passive shielding, aeon, better timewarp building, etc.) fall in favor of the Researcher.
But no, let's keep talking about badluck. Let's make sure we really define what is and isn't ok, and we'll make sure this falls on both sides of the aisle.

You do know that it takes 7 cycles of a single ruby to build enough timewarp to be cured by one focus mind. Also rubies have a cycle time of 15 seconds. Yes, they will cycle around you once every 15 seconds, so with 7 rubies on you you will have to focus once ever 15 seconds to cure the timewarp rubies give.
If you are going to tell me that my curing is extremely poor, then you should be willing to prove it. I've open the door for you to do such, but for some incredible reason you refrain from walking through. You are a person who seems to like to show how great he is at Lusternian combat and count yourself among the combatants (you have even gone as far as laugh at someone talking about combat you considered was not a combatant). So, why in this particular situation where you have a chance to show just how great you are, and how much my system sucks, you refuse to take my challenge? I see your explanation above, but that does not seem to explain it well enough for me. I mean I am even offering to refrain from using a whole skillset but one means of detecting what afflictions you have, and I will not use the rubies and shatterplex too boot. All you had to do was refrain from using one simple skill, BadLuck. Heck, I will even throw in that I will not use the Diamond gem (which passively shields once every 15 seconds) and the Emerald gem (which passively cures one affliction every 10 seconds).

I'm not interested in your artificial rules. If we're going to fight, give it everything you've got. In fact, if that'll get you to start talking about what you can and can't do more honestly, I'll log in, and we can get it on right now. I'll die for that cause. I'll even pray.
It doesn't change the basic facts of it all. Aeonics is less flashy, so they don't realize when Aeonics is screwing over their offense. Paradigmatics throws thirteen sparrows at you, and you get a couple seconds each time it procs to stare at it and fume. The actual effectiveness is closer than you want to admit.

Wow... so much hate. I was looking forward to learning something from this thread, but I can see that was a naive hope.
Does it matter so much if it hits 2.8 times a minute? firing several times in succession can be far worse than simply firing every 21 seconds or so. Yeah, dropping one balance every 21 seconds or so can probably be worked around. Has anyone pulled the numbers for how long he actually was off balance due to badluck hitting?
I mean, I see a lot of attempts to give the other person a mushroom bruise, but wouldn't the hard numbers be more useful than wildly speculative e-peen dueling when you have logs you can actually pull the numbers out of?
Akui: my main concern with the test you did is that it kind of tests badluck in a contrived vacuum. Sure, you could cure in badluck, so long as kalin only used 2 of his 3 skillsets. Which invalidates it for a test against Illuminati... and an Illuminati simply won't be adding wounding and what afflictions are obtained from their other offense(which is an awkward way of saying lol Illuminati != Templar ). They may be adding different afflictions, sure... but the situation is different enough from either actual situation that would come up against a paradigmatics user that I'm not sure of its validity.
Granted, this is just from a logical standpoint, I'm still learning more about combat and and all, but practical tests carried out in impossible situations which one will never encounter in a real fight in game seem like they'd give impossibly skewed data from which a sound conclusion cannot be drawn.
ETA: And for that matter, anyone going back and saying "LOL, I didn't even use skill X or ezmode Y" is only further invalidating any results which were shown. Please reset e-peens to original size before commencing any further dueling.

Aeon is pretty darn flashy, and really that is the only thing that will mess over your offense in Aeonics. Timewarp can help, but that requires understanding how to get it to help in doing that. I explained that long ago though, when I wrote about the mechanices of Timewarp and TempInsanity on these boards. Outside of Aeon and the mechanics of Timewarp (which Temp Insanity shares) there is nothing in Aeonics that screws over healing. What it can do is pretty easy to deal with 1 on 1. Now in groups it can be messed up at the moment, since AeonField stacks. I stated before I envoyed the problem with that, and so it should be fixed as soon as the Admin can get to it.

That was the point of the test, to do exactly what Egran did (only use paradigmatics) and show that with proper curing paradigmatics alone won't kill you. It is like as a warrior he does not know that not only can you cure aeon with adrenaline, but you can actually place up the quicksilver defense with it too. Also, he says phlegmatic but it looked like anorexia to me. Last, I did not use any healing at all but succor on him, so no aurawarp, no bedevil, no auras, no nothing. He still got to use BadLuck on me.
