Hey. Hey you. What should I learn?

For that, I'll need to Trans a skill called GroupCombatExperience though. Still somewhere between Inept and Novice for that one. smile.gif

My turn! I finally got bored with my fancy mask, so I now have more credits than I ever bought on Lilia combined. I transcended dreamweaving, bumped up jewelry, and dumped a bit into discipline. I've got 350 credits left. My main goal is to stay alive long enough to help out in raid/defense. Where should I put lessons? Should I buy any artifacts? I have m&m, which I think handles stance/parry, but if it involves too much thinking on my part, I'm not interested in combat (the skill). I don't have any artifacts right now, other than two vials and a pipe.

Combat is important in that it gives you more stances and helps with parrying. Gwt up to Focus Mind in Discipline if you can. Also good to put more lessons into Phantasms, since that gives you more skills you can use to help out like Whispers, Claws, Phantoms, and such. Also Resilience since that helps with damage reduction and poison shrugging. Also try and get Tumble if you can.

Shieldparry in Combat. FocusMind in Discipline. Gedulah in Highmagic. Tumble in Environment. (In that order, would be my suggestion)

Bump.

Anything that I should really, critically should learn after the overflow from Casiluminati?

Edit: And everything else is trans

Mountaineering (aka scaling) in Environment is nice. It's at Virtuoso.
Sylphas2011-01-06 14:18:57
Bodyguard is fun, but that's a lot of Beastmastery to learn. And then you need a beast, since I assume from your Ineptness you don't have one. Aethercraft to trans, too, but if that was your thing you'd probably have it already.

Casilu will never learn Beastmastery, ever, and I assume she only included it for the sake of completeness/for a chance to make a comment about her refusal to ever learn Beastmastery. suspicious.gif

Why learn no beastmastery? Bodyguard is sweet, and so is spit.

Although randomly being dismounted and having your bird unfollow you drives me into a wild rage sometimes.
Casilu2011-01-06 16:52:08
Hey, I have good reasons.

1. My beast would never get past level 1.
1.5. Any of the artis or custom pets that would bypass that problem are a huge investment for a skillset I'd never used before.
2. Beasts would be a gold sink on a limited income for the exact same reason as point 1.

And then about Bodyguard in particular: I would never use it. If any of you can tell me the last time I went bashing, well, I'd be shocked since I can't.

In that case aethersight would be handy (trans discernment), and you'd get discern along the way (nice for guilds that require checking ego levels). I learned up to diving in environment, just so I could reach every elevation.

Arts has some neat stuff in it, and makes you resistant to illusions.

Arts was the only skill I was planning on learning, but why exactly would aethersight be useful?
Unknown2011-01-06 20:01:17
It would be handy in raids to know if someone is trying to track you, or if someone is trying to jump you.

I'll go ahead and say I've never transed discernment myself, because the value of aethersight falls off sharply if you don't have a cloaking gem. People can just use thirdeye/who if they want to.

I would say that arts would be the biggest bang for your buck. Not only do you get a great combat advantage, but just a lot of neat stuff as well.

I was going to trans it at one point (which is why that skillset is at mythical), but I realized that. Then I also figured that I rarely have to worry about getting jumped since I never go out hunting and I rarely raid, so... yeah. Arts, you say?

Skillflex tailoring for splendours.

And yeah, if you're definitely going to invest some lessons, I think they'd be best spent in arts.

-__- I hate you.
I don't, but I want omni-trans.sad.gif
Sylphas2011-01-07 01:13:57
I've got 2800ish lessons. I'm omnitrans with all three tertiaries and two tradeskills. Should I save those lessons for a flex buffer, or learn Splendours and worry about running out of my buffer?
Kiradawea2011-01-07 01:41:13
Do you skillflex that often?

Get splendours. It will still leave over 1000 lessons for skillflexing, since it costs 1715 lessons, if I recall correctly, to trans a skill.
Sylphas2011-01-07 02:48:59
I really don't, but thinking about it as "I can only flex 20 times" makes it seem scary.
