Not entirely; I will leave you with this parting thought.

Would not life be so much better with our essence back?

If the thread continues to be hijacked, or is simply 'bumped' every hour for the sake of 'bump'ing it, it'll be closed.
Ixion2010-10-14 05:18:24
Bump aka close it, serves no purpose in this manner.
Unknown2010-10-14 06:08:13
Uuuuhhh, it is an open question to the admins from a group of the players. Forums comes off as the best channel as it involves a decent sized group. I don't think it can be hijacked as there isn't much discussion, just someone asking a question and people replying that they want to know. And bumped? Doesn't seem like any sort of forum spam, just making sure it gets noticed by the admin. And obviously it just was.
Siam2010-10-14 10:54:47
An answer will always be appreciated, even if it's 'Sorry, it's final. We're not giving you your essence back." It will at least get us to eventually move on.

Nice. So, you'll just close it instead of giving an answer?

You do realize that that's RL months of work that you're saying you're just going to ignore and not respond to. Two RL months of dedicated hunting in my case. Clearly it's better to just threaten to close the thread than address it, though.

You know, I really don't get this at all.

How goes life, dear Xavius Xenthos?

You're right, I have -no- idea what Eventru is talking about. No idea at all. None. Nope.

At the time of your posting, this thread hadn't been touched in little over 2 hours, but some kind of response in the direction toward answering the original question would be greatly appreciated!

You're all end game characters, get used to being screwed over (at least from your point of view) - comes with the turf. I think the only people here who REALLY got screwed are people like Xenthos who were already demis when they got ascendant. The rest of you already got a free sick amount of essence when you were boosted to level 100, I'd say it's even now.

Seriously, I think everyone who visits these forums know that if you screw over end-game characters there are going to be threads, even if it is "expected". It is important to still call attention to such things and register dismay / disapproval with decisions, especially when there does not appear to be any reason at all for said decision.

However, I do feel I need to clarify something else. I myself was not a Demigod when I was raised. Nejii was. Sojiro was most of the way through Titan (so he didn't get much). Xiel, Talan, Krellan, Thoros were all also demigods. I believe Iasmos was as well.

Especially for us first ones, though (Malicia / myself), I don't feel as if it was "free"; none of us knew what to expect, a million power was a lot, and there were a lot of people who wanted it.

That also does not change the fact that 2 RL months of my work, at an approximate mean of 10-12 hours per day, was wiped out for no reason whatsoever.
Kelysa2010-10-14 21:43:16
Hey I don't even play anymore and I still think this needs attention!
Kaalak2010-10-15 01:00:57
Not having a horse in this race, I would like to see an essence refund and at least a communication from the admin.
Xiel2010-10-15 01:29:06
I, too, would appreciate this problem being addressed and fixed, please.

Indeed. If you like being an endgame character without getting screwed, you're playing the wrong game.

I certainly have nothing to gain or lose by the answer to the essence thing, but even so, I have to wonder why you get threats to close the thread rather than answers, or even acknowledgement of the question. blackeye.gif

maybe the fact that this thread is being 'bumped' every so often kind of means something? Maybe it's a red flag saying this is an important topic to us as the players. Wait, maybe you guys should open up a poll and see what we want to see next again.
Mirami2010-10-15 03:11:40
-supports-

Most of that XP, as Xenthos said, wasn't aetherspace XP (unless you were one of the crazy Seren folk who regularly hunted in aetherspace pre-buff, but I don't -think- there were any demis with us). It was hard-earned, bashed or influenced, XP. Seems reasonable to give it back.
Unknown2010-10-15 04:17:06
I'll add my support for this thread: partly to get an answer for the principle, and partly to hear the last of it.
Everiine2010-10-15 04:31:54
At least until a month after the next "no" when a new thread is started.
Lendren2010-10-15 10:24:51
While most of us on the thread are demigods, about half of us wouldn't be affected by the essence refund, or only affected in a minor negative way (by losing in rankings as the people who were affected shot up past us). Only Vernals and ex-Vernals actually are. The fact that the rest of us agree should probably say something to the admin, since Lusternians so rarely agree on anything, and especially not those who would not gain from it.

Except that there has not even been a first no. There have been two whole responses to the subject in the months since they made this decision.

1) "We'll consider it."
2) "Someone in the thread discussing it said 1/3 was good so we went with that." (Despite the fact that if you go look at the thread and read it, exactly one person stated that and everyone else said no, full or near-full refund).

You seem to be under the mistaken impression that they actually have been responding to / discussing this topic beyond that. They have not.
