2) "Someone in the thread discussing it said 1/3 was good so we went with that." (Despite the fact that if you go look at the thread and read it, exactly one person stated that and everyone else said no, full or near-full refund).

Despite being nowhere near demi, I have an inkling of how long it takes to get essence.

3/4 would seem more appropriate.

I will say no more.

Lendren2010-10-15 12:37:43
If it were up to me I'd do 4/4, but 3/4 is not wholly absurd, because people did get the use of that skill for a while, so it's not wholly unreasonable to lose a little to account for that. Even so, I think 100% is the most fair option.
Jayden2010-10-15 12:38:43

I vote for 0/4!

It seems strange that other players would support anything but a full refund of essence. I'd think that just evaporating some players' huge time investments would be of concern to everyone, not just ex-VAs.

Some people are just bitter about others having what they cannot achieve themselves, I suppose?

I lost somewhere around 12-15 million from the ascension itself, but I didn't learn past Flight because most of the abilities after that were cult-based and I knew I'd have the skill yanked from me, so I only lost a million or two from the learning.

Yes, I agree having it all back would be the best option, but if they absolutely were set on not full refund, 3/4 would be the most reasonable. Not 1/3.
Xiel2010-10-15 21:55:12
3/4 would be 'reasonable', though there's no inkling that that would even happen. We worked for the full 120mil expenditure to get the full benefits from Ascendance and even a bit of that disappearing for no reason at all is a questionable means of treating those so invested in the game.

Lack of communication from the administration sans 'don't bump the thread or it will be closed' is something that's worrisome as well, so getting this cleared up would be appreciated quite a bit.

I'd have imagined my non-comment on the topic made it pretty clear. I suppose not, though? It's not my decision, nor my call. Beyond that, it's not my place to comment.

The only thing it might possibly make clear is that there is an intentional decision to ignore the subject in the hopes that it will go away.

I am hoping that this is not what you were trying to convey.

it basically comes down to the fact that the admin can't prove exactly how much everyone is owed, and they don't want people complaining after the fact. were it me, i would suggest emailing IRE/Jeremy with a clear, concise explanation of your problem with the admin, the circumstances, and that you feel you have a legitimate concern that the admin are ignoring.

Except that we know they saved the amounts. It has been stated in the past that the amounts were saved (prior to the first refund of 1/3, which theoretically they could also track in order to determine how much of the rest to give).

I've had that happen. Though we called a 1 am Thoros raid.

There's a slight difference on scale I think. Even Thoros as his most griefiest couldn't cost several people 80 million essence each in one raid, heh. Even if he could, we'd most likely be smart enough to qq well before that. (I've wondered if that wasn't the point.)

He was just trying to convey that he is not the decision maker and can't reply either way. Or to rephrase it is most likely that of the Lusternia staff only Estarra is authorised to reply to such questions/requests. And that his only presence in this topic was in function of a moderator.

Well, not at once. The loss from a series of raids is more of a long-term invesment.

I understand that Eventru may not be able to comment, but there are other admins, and I'm sure Eventru can pass on the info that we would like to know to these admins that can make comments. I don't really think it's too much to ask
Unknown2010-10-17 17:32:44
Let me make a statement, entirely based off of the fact that I am not a Demigod, nor will I likely -ever- be a Demigod.

Give them back their essence. Given the time and effort spent collecting it, taking it away is akin to stealing.

They earned it.

I'm pretty sure the explicit implication is that only one Admin, Estarra, has the authority to comment on things like refunds, who is probably already aware of the issue from the last 2 or 3 threads.
Vadi2010-10-17 23:30:30
I believe the point of this thread is that the players would like a response from administration on this very important issue, not just inform them that it exists.
