Yay, Lady Isune tattoo! Allllll 200 points of back, which might be silly, but it had to be, I said it filled the whole back, cause She deserves such. Now, to make a Lord Lyreth tattoo...guess it'll have to be chest, heh.

Just because you make it cover the whole back, you don't have to make it 200 weight, you know. I have a one and a half inch diameter chest tattoo that's 100 weight.
Shulamit2011-04-21 20:24:06
But weight does vaguely correspond to size. I couldn't really justify to myself saying it covers the entire back and saying wait, there's still room for something else.

I don't think of weight as size, I think of it as the potential of the tattoo to hold ka energies, which makes more sense to me.

You could always have made it take up the whole back but with space left for other things to be added inside/between/within the bits of the tattoo, so other tattoos can fit there -- which you could then design specifically to fit.
Shulamit2011-04-21 20:26:12
If you say so. The thing still is, the tattoo I have is described as covering the entire back. Even if I wished to squeeze power out for powers sake, which I sorta don't, I can't get another back there, and say that works...they'd be all covering everything, and it would just look hideous.
Lendren2011-04-21 20:31:55
Let me explain what I mean. Is Lady Isune painting something? You could have left blank what she's painting and made that a second tattoo you designed (or a whole selection of them) which fit into the space left behind in the first. You could have Lady Terentia holding a shield, and a second tattoo that fills in the shield. Etc. So you still have one unified image that fills the whole back, but which is made of more than one physical tattoo, some of which are inside each other. See also Eventru's idea of a Tree of Life tattoo that was later filled in with qabalic spheres as separate tattoos, which is another example of the same thing.
Shulamit2011-04-21 20:35:53
I understand that. I've seen people's designs for such thing. I do get the concept. I describe it all within one tattoo. I didn't make a public design for the reasons that it's obvious that people wouldn't want to lose the weight. I made it in a private cartel, not even city, so it doesn't use up their slots. My rave wasn't suppose to be about the weight, how big, or why I should have made it different. All it was suppose to be was oh, I got a nice tattoo. Sorry.
Casilu2011-04-21 20:47:14
It is okay, Shulamit, I understand you.

Shula Shula! It was a lovely tattoo. I had a sneak at it.
Hell, I'd probably do the same if I didn't already have one for Aeral's back. An entire back scene of Celest or something.

Oh, I see. Well, if you did it that way on purpose, then that's good. Was only just trying to toss an idea out in case people didn't know about it.

All this Dragon Age is giving me a newfound appreciation of fantasy and RPGs. But now I can't help but hear everyone as having a European accent whenever I log into Lusty (including myself O_o)

But Daraius is Australian, obviously
Casilu2011-04-22 00:53:53
And Casilu is... what accent would Casilu even have? Clearly not European. Probably not.

Enchantment! Also, Casilu doesn't have a voice, you just kind of -know- what she's saying on an instinctive level.

That happens to me when I watch Doctor Who, I start thinking in an English accent.
Ytran2011-04-22 02:02:40
The problem there is that you are watching Dr. Who.

Seeing the high quality of the CRPGs today made me desire to come back here.
DA takes inspiration from A Song of Fire and Ice, with the use of "Ser" and even a few shout-outs like Dragonbone. (I'm just starting to read the series).
Hopefully you'll like the sequel, although they cut a few corners it was IMO just as fun as #1, if not as epic a storyline. It's too bad there's a lot of "rage" on the Bioware site about the changes.

Also, my only problem with Dragon Age is that mages are so incredibly overpowered. They're actually even -more- overpowered in Lore. Why was Tervinter overthrown? The Qunari will eventually take over the world, yes (Woo firearms), but how can the chantry, regulate magi? There is an easy counter to everything they can throw at you. Templars are defeated by attacking their environment, melee combatants bounce off wards like flies, arrows are deflected and ignored thanks to Rune of Warding and Heroic Aura...
