I'm confused. Aren't cults always customized? I thought that was the point.
Xenthos has the right of it.
The reality of it is this - writing skill messages is a LOT of work! If every god had to write a skillset's worth every time they made a cult... Oi!
No, I think we far prefer being able to do it gradually.
Unknown2011-07-30 17:45:46
I didn't even know the skill messages could be customised at all until people started talking about it here.
Lendren2011-07-30 21:48:38
Psh, I'd write all my messages if I had any way to do anything with them.
Xenthos2011-07-30 22:05:06
Being able to write one's own couldn't possibly go wrong...

Rave for Glomdoring individuals who put up with my hilarious jokes. Even though I'm the only one cracking up.

Submitted my bardic at the last possible second, courtesy of a pounding head preventing me from writing as fast/well as usual. Still, got it in!

I managed to get home from vacation just in time to get 100 points in the Great Hunt. I was at exactly 100 by the time I ran out of things to kill, and only twenty minutes left. Combined with the credits I got from the from the Wheel, I almost have enough credits to hit my next lesson milestone.

Splendours get proofings to complement their stats.
?
But warriors can get proofed things as well? I must be more tired than I thought, but I'm not seeing the connection still regarding Arel's robes and the subsequent fullplate comment. :S

Are warriors able to wear multiple cloaks/coats to get all four proofings?
Oh, I guess vests can be batted to allow for proofing. Is that one proofing or two?

Robe proofs are superior to coat/cloak proofs on a per proof basis. If it's not showing up on bodyscan, that should probably be addressed.

Didn't Eventru (or maybe it was Xiel...) say on here that splendor proofings aren't any different from greatrobes, except you can put them all on robes instead of needing a coat and cloak too?

Yes. ALL robe proofings are superior to coat/cloak. This is why greatrobe wearers usually don't want all of their stuff pre-proofed (and why most shops don't pre-proof) - they want to decide which proofs they want to be stronger.

This is untrue. All proofings give 10 dmp, per bodyscan. And per the Tailoring abhelps.

A splendour outfit can be enchanted and cured like great robes, though its quality makes enchantments upon it greater than those of great robes.
But yes, bodyscan says it's still just 10 DMP.

At some point, they definitely did give more via RAISE HOOD. This was tested. This also came up when tattoos were released and was why tattoo monks were given double effect on DMP tattoos.

Tattoos were given DMP boosts because of the lack of available proofings (splendours having as many as four, if I recall), from what I remember.
Arel2011-08-01 04:07:59
So are splendours supposed to give more than the base 10 DMP or not?

I was wearing robes here, and the only difference between staff hits was that in the first one, I didn't have my hood raised. In the second, I did. This was with a 100% cold staff hit.
Bug, then?
EDIT: Even at that, this suggests the actual DMP boost from raise hood isn't as high as Esano initially thought it was. Probably due to lack of bodyscan at the time. Interesting.
EDIT2: On second thought, this is probably screwed up by regens, but I'll do more once I can get my hands on a mage who isn't busy or aetherbashing.
