We probably can go without bards/monks, but why would we want to? We'd be stabbing ourselves in the foot, at least if we don't take bards. Yay alchemy.

Yeah. Everyone knows that darn Culture Minister doesn't do anything. It's all those aides of his.
That helps to make up for the pitiful disappointment that was the most recent revolt. We may not have any military prowess or the manpower to face up to Glom, but at least we can turn out some quality text.
