The new Lady Gaga video for Born This Way...is some intense stuff. Looks like she read the Elder Wars before filming it. laugh.gif

Yes, and it's disappointingly ridiculous when it does.

The real question is does he actually talk. Sure, you think he does, when he opens up his wings and psionic energy is flying everywhere and he absorbs dreams and the like (after having his third eye opened by a narcotic incense). Though all one sees is him roaring a prophecy in a vision.

I mean, my college roommate told me he could taste the sidewalk through his sneakers when he was tripping, and that I needed to wash my shoes, because it made the cement unhappy. But that doesn't mean I really believed him (though, to appease him, I did).

Was he a psych major? Please say no.
Eventru2011-02-28 20:20:29
You know, I honestly couldn't tell you what his major was. We only lived together for seven months. I think it was a slacker major, like Communications.

Maybe it was Religious Studies. He was observing you, Eventru. ninja.gif

This puts the video into a much better perspective now! dazed.gif

I haven't seen it...I want to, though.

Coughcough not as good as her other songs coughcough.

Anyway rave for a draft for a Lusternia poem turning into a poem I can use for class instead of Lusternia. Oh, old Word documents, you are wonderful, wonderful things. wub.gif

Hmmm, I never went that way. Once, I ran a roleplaying game for some friends and then adapted parts of the story they created into a play, though. That was a very nice double value of the work.

Dynami, I have to agree with the Hallibird. It's not as good.

I don't think this song was meant to have the kind of catchiness(No, it's not a word but it gets my point across) that Bad Romance and Poker Face have. If you stand back and look the kind of songs she has produced, you will notice her shifting to writing songs that tie in with an overall theme set by the album.

The Fame ---> The positive facets of fame and how people deal with it. The album has some songs that don't relate with the theme(Brown Eyes, Summer Boy, Eh Eh(Nothing Else I Can Say))
The Fame Monster ---> This is where she really sticks to the theme. The album was all about the negative things that can come out of having fame and what she is personally afraid of. There are a couple of interviews where she discusses that each song addresses a fear that she has. For example, Telephone is about her fear of being alone, Speechless was written because she was afraid she was going to lose her dad to heart disease, and Bad Romance is about her fear of love.
Born This Way ---> If you miss the point of the song, something is wrong with you.

I may not have said this in the best possible way, but I am trying to convey the following point:

This was not meant to be of the same caliber that Bad Romance and the rest of her hits have been. The song/album focuses solely(well, at least so far it does) on getting the message across and her desire to help her fans be comfortable in their own skin.

Good god I derailed this thread. I promise I will stop now! blush.gif

I agree that the song itself isn't anything special(musically), but it's more about the message than anything else. I consider it an empowerment anthem.

Finally got to submit my custom rapier today. Thanks so much to Irillia for designing it!

SHORT DESC: Stormweaver, the Lightning Edge

LONG DESC: Its narrow blade seeming to suck all the light from its
surroundings, the sleek form of Stormweaver rests here.

EXT DESC: Slender and straight, the three-foot-long blade of this extraordinary rapier is crafted from supple, strong steel tempered to a deep midnight-black shade. At rest, the rapier appears as still and dark as a motionless shadow, its caliginous hue seeming to swallow any ambient light falling upon it. When the rapier is put in motion, sweeping and thrusting toward an adversary's vitals, however, rhythmic pulses of electrical energy crackle and spark with white-hot menace from the needle-sharp point of this graceful weapon. Arising from contact with the air itself, the brilliant pulses of electricity wreathe the well-balanced blade with tendrils of lightning, causing the rapier to shimmer like a night-darkened river beneath the stars. In that intermittent illumination, the tiny diamonds inlaid within the blade form cryptic runes, glittering with blinding clarity. The arcs of lightning terminate at the rapier's hilt, formed of gleaming obsidian whose glassy properties shield the wielder from the blade's innate electricity. Elaborately fashioned to resemble a soaring thunderbird, the curving hand-guard forms its outspread wings and regal head, with curving beak flung open to breathe lightning at its prey. Soft leather wraps around the grip, which ends in an obsidian pommel carved into a many-faceted icosahedron for the final touch of balance and elegance to this deadly rapier.

The Lower Wards of the City of Hallifax glistens with sudden power as a myriad of colours race
through its crystalline infrastructure, flashing with a dazzling incandescence before turning clear.

A low, dull roar whispers across the wind only moments before the City of Hallifax begins to sparkle
once more, its shimmering crystal structures glistening in the distance.

It startled me! Was that it? I thought I still had two generators to go, but it's so hard to tell with all the problems there have been!

According to the statues in the grid, yeah there should still be two more sculptures to make.

Except we can't because it's moved on to the next part of the process. suspicious.gif I'm just going to do the work for the sculptures that say they are half-completed in the Grid, and hope that those two outliers don't screw everything up when it gets to be their turn. tongue.gif
Kiradawea2011-03-01 12:50:22
Probably not. Hopefully. Maybe...

We've been bugged so far so you bet it's gonna come back to bite us later on.
