Whoa whoa, what? Is that true?
Curve in the Gnop passageway.
This location is flooded with shallow, crystal clear water. A dense, snapping
sand crab scuttles about, pincers clicking. A gnome stands here, fiddling with
the straps of his coveralls.
You see exits leading east and southwest.
Yep. I was not exaggerating in my earlier post! Newbies are getting mowed down.
EDIT: incidentally I died in one shot to one 'bout ten minutes later (on a nublet alt)

Now that is just an unbelievable amount of nonsense.
Arel2010-12-15 23:52:52
I bet the admins actually placed the spawn point in Newton, just to grief newbies. The admin are all mean and hateful people.
Did anyone issue this? I think in the past they have made it so that aggro event mobs don't wander into Newton/don't attack anyone under level 21.

There were precautions to keep them out of Newton, but they weren't doing a good enough job - about 1 every 8 hours made its way in there. We've added another, which will make sure if it attacks a newbie in Newton, it'll poof away.
That said, the roads are dangerous - aslaran and loboshigaru are fighting, sand creatures are crawling around. Kill them or avoid them, but you don't get to do neither!

Edit: Ninja'd
Eventru2010-12-16 00:26:11
They keep wandering about until someone kills them - that's about all there is to it! Eventually that will take them, well, almost anywhere on prime. Even the Undervault!

I do this by avoiding the event.

Unless you spawn them in my manse, I'll be fine.
Furien2010-12-16 01:12:08
An orange-robed loboshigaru monk whirls about, pummeling an aslaran pilgrim in the gut with a sudden strike.

You stole my name, jerk >>.
In unrelated news, why does it seem that no one is ever online that can handle my getting unenemied to Terentia unless they're raiding our planes?

Of course it is, welcome to the race war.

It's also cliche. We're better than this, people!

Is a sadface. Oh well, at least that means I get time to study, which I should be doing...

I hate quests that one tiny mistake makes impossible to finish for hours.

Yeah, I was so glad we'd avoided that cliché by having krokani be the ones that go against aslaran, but I guess it was as inevitable as the idea that aslaran can be called "kitties" -- so if you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

With a wistful look on his face, Ileein touches the Conduit of Celestial Fire.
Ileein touches the Conduit of Celestial Fire and the orb at the tip's spire
glows with increasing intensity, swelling and growing in size until it explodes.
The light engulfs you completely, searing your flesh from your bones.
The orb atop the Conduit darkens as the light disperses. Then, softly at first,
but growing louder by the second, comes the sound of dozens of cave-fishers
trundling through the tunnels.
The screams of merian archaeologists echo throughout the cavern as a swarm of
mutated cave-fishers rushes from the tunnels and into the ruins.
Pardon me while I goddamn shoot myself for trying to do what an event tells me to do, but fail to do so due to really obnoxious quests.
No I mean, seriously, just jump in, give us what we were looking for, and let us leave. I'll have already spent two and a half hours on my ass for this.

Perhaps the Fates are trying to avoid the inevitable comments about one-eyed monsters and kitty cats? (Or maybe there were other reasons behind it...)
