Well... it had reset because I cleared one round of slugs just before that and all the assistants were at 0 slugs.

You need to do the scientists a ton of times. It's purely luck based, and the scientists keep track of the amount of slugs handed in forever. Or at least used to.

It's not like you can steal the Facility quest, the # is tracked by person from what I could tell. Which is a good thing based on the number of respawns needed.

At worse you lose a couple of hours because they're cleaning their beaker.

It wasn't like that in the past. So if they've changed it, that's awesome.

He specifically says, "I need X more Y crystals from you." And the count stayed accurate throughout, despite other people working on it while I was.

The only time it didn't was a time when Talan made a blue crystal, I turned it in, and it didn't count for me (he accepted it but told me I still needed to give him 2, even though I had already given him one and this should have been the second).

No idea if that's really not the way it used to be, but it does seem to be the way now.

That's pretty awesome. Earlier, Facility was highly stealable.

It was. The number of slugs and crystals needed jumped around constantly.

Edit: Nope, got them put down again by Sidd but they just didn't leave, bugged.

I've done parts of the Xion quest many times, but after I get my essences, I just have no idea where to look for the next step, so I never get beyond that.

I only got it done because Telperion has a guide written down somewhere, you just have to do a ton of random mastermind puzzles. Like, seven million mastermind puzzles.

I can do two of the puzzles easily, but I can't find a third. I've only heard of its existence.

Ask, and I will show. Also, if I recall correctly there are four masterminds. First you do one, then three more.

Whatever they are, I ain't found 'em yet.

You'd think at this time of year, tinkerers would get more business than usual.
