The question is if designs have to use British spelling why do we have cookie patterns instead of biscuit patterns (sorry wanted to make that remark ever since I went to to that Evolving English exhibition at the British Library)

Cookies are actual things that exist (those doughy sweet things, typically with chocolate chips or something), so depending on the breadth of the definition that is perfectly acceptable English.

The question is why we have to be sticklers about Britishisms but we aren't allowed to be sticklers about dangling modifiers, misuse of punctuation and compound words, and other things where there are actual real grammar rules in play?

Dammit Lendren it's because British English makes us SUPERIOR to the INFERIORITY OF AMERICAN ENGLISH and only poser writers write like those boorish Americans. It's like the Charites are hipsters! 8D Elitist hipsters!

But for srs this game is so confused about if it's British or American or what. Oh game time is GMT, proper english is UK english, OH WAIT almost everything else is scheduled by EST or PST and events happen during prime time for American folks. It is a mad world we live in, my friends.
