laugh.gif I stepped down because I spent a third of a year handling Hallifax and it was finally at a point I wouldn't feel like censor.gif if I stepped down!

CL was never one of my goals when playing Lusternia. It was one of those if-you-want-something-done-do-it-yourself things.

And now you get Morbo running for CL.

Currently up to like five contestations now. It's definitely interesting.

Step 1) Political upheaval.
Step 2) Resign!

It is what it is. If Hallifax wants an eventually bitter, burned out, and useless leader, they are free to reelect me. mellow.gif

From my understanding, this might actually be a better campaign post than some of the other ones out there. biggrin.gif

That said, I'm not being serious here, CL is one of those things you can only do so long before it's time to get out.

What makes you say that laugh.gif Though anyone would have to be utterly mad to wanna run the city in this political climate.

Knowing all the little tidbits and positions some people didn't mention, that poster is the only way to go.

I see. Well, at the end of the day we are still playing a game. Admittedly there's tons of things I don't know but that's part of the intrigue. Political turmoil or no I personally think the job of the CL is to make sure his/her fellow citizens are enjoying Lusternia, while at the same time also enjoying Lusternia (otherwise why would we play!)

And that's the end of my forum campaigning.

Not like I can say any big statement or anything, but if a girl who was playing Lusternia for like, what, six months when she was elected can do it (assuming I did anything right at all laugh.gif), presumably anyone sufficiently dedicated can.*

*With a lot of Board help, listening to advice/ideas, making mistakes, making bigger mistakes, throw in some OOC hair-pulling and screaming, bugging seasoned politicians, delegating, delegating, delegating... Dear god, why was I even elected in the first place. dazed.gif

It occurs to me that I will no longer be able to secretly pull the strings of the Hallifaxian government. suspicious.gif

Better start putting the moves on Casilu.

Like she's wanted all along.

I don't expect to win at this point.

Lately it feels like I'm just playing Lusternia because I'm supposed to, not because I want to. It's not that I'm not enjoying playing, it's more that I haven't really had the motivation to play in the first place.

How does that saying go? You hit the nail on the head... Like you, I do feel that an important part of CL is making everyone 'want' to play Lusternia. Administrating, handling problems between other leaders, uniting the guilds, and creating an atmosphere where -roleplaying- is enjoyed by everyone is essential in being a CL. Once the citizen body rallies around an individual, then it is easy to move the whole community forward. The easiest way to accomplish this is to select someone that excels in combat. Winning revolts, domoths, events, raids, battles and so on are what boosts morale and has the greatest influence to a city/commune. However, being able to do this takes -a lot- of time and can be stressful. Oh, and being visible is important too.

I think one administrator said it best that one of the best ways to play Lusty is having goals. Your goals shouldn't be really timed-based. It should be natural and flexible and not really forced. Motivation can take the form of many things - finishing a quest, a project, a design, gaining a skill, etc. I really wish Lusternia had a bigger player-base. Having 300 people interacting at one time would make things enjoyable for everyone.

TWEET: It's too bad I won't get an opportunity to go for CL. Good luck to everyone campaigning.

Take a break. Seriously. Take a couple of months off and come back. If you're not playing cause you want to then you shouldn't be playing, IMO. You might get your 'want to' back if you give it a rest for a while.

Stop for a bit, then. I know that the main reason why I've had so many characters is because when I get super bored of playing, or found it too stressful/etc I stopped playing. Sometimes it's nice to stop for a bit. (though it drove me nuts not knowing all of the events going on. Oh how I missed so much!)

Also, my own tweet: When people said that titan was the worst... OH MY GOD. Is it ever.

Hmm it is true that some of the most inspiring/charismatic leaders in the game have been strong combatants too. At the least, they are always present. For me to get deeply involved in combat, since I don't have a talent for it, would start to compromise my time IRL I fear. I would love to help others grow into their own though, and I can see that happening in Halli now.
