I do also kind of agree that acknowledging that 1-2p having minimal effect kind of contradicts what you want to get out of it.
RE: Iasmos' new system for SW only - that's a bummer, a lot of people got into combat because of treant, and that only helps Lusternia IMO.

As opposed to, say, giving it a 3-6p cost, which you will all totally agree with, right?

The tone of your past few posts is pretty much implying what you're almost explicitly saying here: I'm out to get Crow! I have a vendetta!
Even if I hated Xenthos with all my soul it'd be unreasonable to have a vendetta against a skillset. A 1-2p is going to change what I'm complaining about. A Druid can't just sap and run and spam squall until they restore power, for instance. If you catch people at low power reserves they can't just spam it, either. It's a limiting factor and people will be more able to work around it.

So now you're saying you want an already limited skill to be more limited? Squall isn't hard to work around, just go back, it's simple, anyone with any interest in learning combat can figure out how to return to a room.

?!
It's going to be more limited in the scenario in which it requires a limit and is overall easily spammed. Evidently this skill is never going to be used if an ally is standing in the room, so what's the problem here?
We ought to, at least, stop pretending that the 'walking back' method has never been tried. Guess what happens then? Squall. And then? Squall! Squall Squall Squall! In order to kill someone, you have to be in the room with them for an extended period of time. This is a 0p method of forcing everyone out of your room. Staying in the room with someone becomes difficult if not outright impossible to do.
I'm totally game for a 3-6 power cost if people thinking that 1-2 isn't going to stop it being spammed as much, though.

If you make it scissorkick, go for it.
P.S. You'd think in a 1vsMany scenario, one of the Many would decide 'hmm icewalls might work'.
P.P.S. Tell you what - make it exactly like whirlwind and I'll be down with that too. That's closer to the feel of the skill.

You'd also think one of the Many would be in an ideal situation; where they don't have more than 4 exits to icewall, that they have enough summon resistance to at least stand in the room long enough to raise one, that simply climbing into the trees wasn't an issue, or that even if they're icewalling from the outside they have a pogo stick to quickly get back in.
This isn't always the case!

heh, so use hinders, walk in and web/shieldstun/prone/vine/headslam/put up walls and poof squall is no longer being spammed. A skill shouldn't cost power just because you aren't willing to learn how to deal with it.
Unknown2011-02-14 20:55:39
Um, I quit giving a free system to everyone precisely because everyone got into combat... and started beating on us. We attract more non-coms than the other orgs, I guess.

You really think that wasn't tried? Your opponents aren't all suffering from some sort of chronic incompetence syndrome.
It takes all of one split second for the Crow user to be able to act so that they can Squall, more or less nullifying a large portion of what was used against them.
P.P.S-Shuyin: You can try and get it turned into a Whirlwind clone if you want, assuming it isn't rejected outright for deliberately trying to clone another skill to buff an already-decent skillset.

All I'm saying is that there are many things you can do to avoid squall that isn't 'be in a distorted room'. Some of them are even really effective. On top of this, all it takes is one person hindering the crow user long enough for everyone else to pile back into the room to kill them. As easy as it is to say that the crow user just has to mash the button to keep them away, this is only during an "ideal situation" as you've said. And ganking is almost never an ideal situation.

And all I'm saying is that mashing a macro should only keep you safe for so long, and that even as a principle it needs some sort of prohibiting factor to it. For all the ideal situations on both sides, Crow users sure seem to have deceptively alright survivability on their own.
P.S: We all like arguing in tweets don't we.

Have you met Alacardael? The guy whose lost demi 3 times or is it 4? He's a crow user and I've seen him spam squall and I've seen him end up dead because people ran back in and hindered him and killed him. It happened once just this morning against only 3 people. Le Gasp, how can that be? It is impossible to stop squall!!!1!2!@1
I think there is plenty you can do to stop it and I don't think it needs a power cost.

Have you met Viynain? The guy with combat experience that doesn't amount to killing noncoms in Faethorn, who knows enough about what he's doing to be an Envoy? The same guy with a pretty decent system and the know-how to work around or with it?
I wonder how his deaths compare.

I do it while eating lunch, might as well post on rants.
Yeah good thing the who list is still here, I can still know when to domoth.
Also 201 deaths and counting

And I've seen his spam-squalling stopped and him killed as well. I've seen Xenthos thwarted and lots of others thwarted too. Oh No, you have to put effort in to stop a skill, whatever will you do?

I'm pretty sure it's not as common of an occurrence as you're making it out to be.
And would you be so kind so as to stop pretending that I'm incapable of putting effort towards something without whining about it? This is probably the fourth post you've made in this entire discussion where you act like you're looking down on either me or the people you PvP with/against in game. I'm trying to go out of my way to be neutral and polite, here, but the mocking is getting more than irritating.
