My guess is that those who belong in 'losing' orgs will probably complain if you did envoy, but since the losers change every so often, I think it can be ignored.
I think it'd actually be accepted depending on what you actually want.

You keep on thinking that, if it makes you feel justified in what you're doing. The truth is that you can lock down an aetherbubble with shrine effects, a meld, pits, and just sitting in wait for anyone who pops in. Whether we bring 5 or 25 people to the fight doesn't make any difference when fighting all that.
We're not going to run around fighting battles all the time just to prepare for the occasional conflict. Instead of a cart and a horse, I've got two carts?

If of those 25 people, all fail to get to breaking points/defiling points and get rid of the shrine and/or the meld, they deserve to lose the fight. Shrines, melds and pits only counter numerical advantage by so much, and anyone can have a trapper in their group, too.

I didn't even have to join the group yesterday to see how quickly they all dropped. I think you underestimate how much archangels + maelstrom hurt.

Well, maelstrom is a 10 power trans skill, it's supposed to hurt, but it can't really be spammed, and seeing as how it's the Aqua trans skill, depending on the area it's pretty easy to just walk out.
Unknown2011-02-18 19:33:53
You don't have to spam it in this scenario. One shot will kill half the people who just showed up and mostly kill the rest. The archangels and a couple of swings from any attackers will finish them off.

Still seeking logically justifiable means by which angels from Celestia are able to manipulate temporal forces.
Also wondering if anyone even vets the balance of these things to begin with.

War shrine + meld isn't a lockdown. I recall Domoth fights wherein the opposing team (Magnagora) had a war shrine and a meld going in the Facility; we (Glomdoring) were losing pretty heavily at first, but then we grabbed this little spot where we meld and eventually we displaced Magnagora. We removed the shrine influence bit by bit until it became essentially worthless.
War shrines help a lot, but they're not a 'lockdown'. Kinda like a pile of guards in village entrances.

Hehe, I was so about to type out this whole Glomdoring Triumphs in X situation and you beat me to it. But yes, that is the one that stands out to me. Celest held the opposing throne and couldn't help. Fillin and company had it nicely locked down with shrine/meld and Glom fought and won it.
Seems like some players want everything to be easier for them, when they are simply unwilling to put in that kind of effort.

All invasion mobs must follow a base template, have equal stats and their actions are, across the board, the same - the only variance allowed is in damage type, and we're allowed one or two afflictions, which must be picked from a pre-approved pool.
Also, at least one Supernal is able to give aeon - as can anyone who flings tarot cards. Much as cosmic energy allows one to manipulate temporal forces for speed (quickening), certainly, the reverse is logical (aeon).
Rika2011-02-18 19:46:11
Delete shrine powers outside of org territory. Raiding isn't made any easier but it's not used as another (substantial) weapon for every other aspect of the game, usually by the org that is already winning.
Edit @ Eventru: Mobs that do aeon are fine. It adds a bit of variance. However, when these mobs are going to come in groups and are aggressive, you can pretty much expect to be aeoned instantly. Add to that a large amount of damage and a lot of people will struggle to stay alive.

No, get rid of them in org territory too. You all can't just have it all your way. Celest isn't winning, we're still the underdog!

1 Supernal hitting with Aeon is a bit different then 2 or more angels that can potentially spam it.
That's what I think anyway.
@Iasmos: You're exaggerating there. Serenwilde's biggest issue isn't that dealing with meld+shrine+pits is impossible, it's the general lack of coordination. I try, but I'm honestly not very good at rallying and coordinating people.

Protip: SW isn't as weak as you guys insist it is. You have just as many ascendants and demis as Celest or Glom, and whatever else you lack, you make up for in friends.
P.S. Aeon isn't a deal breaker when it comes to mobs, otherwise I'm waiting for the righteous indignation in raiding ladies too.
P.P.S. See Lehki's a smart guy when he's not deciding to suicide run!

I'm aware 1 is different than 15 - the question was the logic behind an angel being able to, and my point was that it is already established that cosmic energy is capable of manipulating the timestream - at least in some minor fashion. Actually, that was more of a minor comment, the real question was if they were regulated in any way.
I won't speak to the balance of 15 aggressive mobs in an area potentially hitting with aeon, or shrines in general.

Serenwilde isn't incapable of following orders. It's just that they never seem to learn. For example, we're facing a group of demigod raiders and someone suggests they do a rage coven. I tell them how ineffective that is and we might as well just rush them. They think about it and agree. Next time, some other person who was there for the first exchange suggests the exact same thing.

Nothing to say about the issue, everyone hates invasion mobs, but I feel like the phrasing of this complaint should earn you a Hallifax merit badge.

I just think it's a bit much on mobs that can be summoned almost anywhere en mass, and can technically all be re-summoned quickly if you just defile and re-sanctify. At least with Ladies it's possible to thin them out before an actual raid.
I rather enjoy those suicide runs usually. =P

The biggest thing here is everything that happened in Chaos has happened before, this isn't new.
Yeah, Celest got lucky and guessed the right bubble but that shrine has been there at least the past two weeks, the entrance to Facility is a huge pain in the ass to break and everyone has access to traps.
Stop making a big deal out of nothing we've all dealt with it.

The most interesting thing is how many Serenwilde demis are commenting here now, just a bit after the last domoth fight. Had you assisted the people who actually fought, who knows, you might have won. It was far from a certain outcome this time.
