Don't forget that everyone else was put their through the political machinations of the Shevat machine and are our puppets, except you and Casilu. We're plotting to bring you two down, push Elostian into the Void, raise me up as a god and rule the city as a theocracy dedicated to glorifying me.

People find any reason to use conspiracy as a reason for things. Family just happens to be the easiest thing to point out even if the family is absolutely innocuous or too small to carry out a conspiracy.
Don't knock the conspiracy! You try living in a Shevat ran world as a poor commoner with barely any food to feed his 24 children!!

This is acceptable. At least no one will mistakenly believe the Aeromancers are allowed to do science.

This is ironic in that Casilu is actually heading the conspiracy in my Hallifax drama.

lol@people who think the Skyplumes have enough folks for a family conspiracy. Me and Ridley are the only relatively-active Skyplume Aeromancers and the whole election was going on during my week long break from Lusternia- I didn't even vote or talk to a single person about the election.
I think the thing is, Ridley is like, probably our single most knowledgeable combatant. In the city. He's #1. People are reluctant to give that up, even if he's basically gone- the same thing happened when I ran against Shedrin, who was 100% gone (not even 90% gone like Ridley) and never coming back for GM, and lost. By a pretty large amount, even. Shedrin was awesome as Archmage, and it's hard for people to willingly give up an awesome leader.
Then I ran again a week or so later, other people actually joined in on the election that time, and I ended up winning.
Anyway, just talk to people about how he is basically gone and try to make them see logically why they should prefer a less knowledgeable but active champion over one who isn't around. And that if they really really want him to be Champion, then they can go ahead and try to get him to be Champion again when/if he actually comes back, instead of hurting the guild by keeping him there while he's gone.

I understand that Ridley is a great Aeromancer combatant, yeah he is probably #1, but I doubt that people see him as a good Champion because as soon as he got it, he stopped coming around. I know, I was around the whole time he was champion. I was a protector already. He may have been to some raids in the short time before he disappeared, but he was not champion for that long before sighting him became rare. So I doubt it is the whole he was a good champion while he was around thing, because I know I didn't personally see it at all. He is a great combatant, and I know that, but as Champion he just disappeared.

I lol whenever people get positions and then suddenly stop showing up. It's not even always their fault, but it happens often enough that I lol when it does.

You must be laughing a lot.
Razenth2011-03-11 03:01:14
It's balanced by the fact that I don't pay attention to leader activity unless I have a vested interest in it or someone points it out to me. If I laughed that much, I think I would pull something

As much as it sucks to lose an election to someone who is all but gone (believe me, I know that one), that isn't accurate. He's been Champion for a while, and he only disappeared in the past few weeks. I'm not saying people weren't silly for voting for him when he's inactive, but I am saying that I understand why they would.

1. it isn't corny, the music is what my feelings sound like
2. only the Aeromancers do pseudo-science, all my science is real
3. all contemporary art is bad, so you're just being redundant
4. you're on my list now for mocking the brilliant simplicity of my plan. I'm giving you to Casilu as a bribe for her support.
