Everyone talks down to me in Hallifax. I want to move... but I don't want to do another epic quest. Sigh.

I don't think I've ever talked down to you, but we've never talked much. sad.gif
Sorry! That's probably my fault.

Who is being jerks? Do I have to start playing Phoebus at peak times again so I can glare disapprovingly at jerks?

Aye, you do not mess with The Phoebus.

I really hope people don't hold it against me forever when I have to go into business mode. sad.gif In RL, I would be all, "Oh, it's okay, I understand, don't worry about it," but the Provost can't do that!

Is this the same mode that I playfully refer to as Aeral's b censor.gif mode, where she gets stuff done? If so, continue.

Report 556 was rejected. Really early too. sad.gif

(Report to alter how knight weapon runes work, so we aren't saddled to one weapon with a 3k+ credit layout).

Seriously, it seems pretty gratuitous, especially when there's so much else out there to spend creddies on.
Kiradawea2011-03-23 20:36:46
Really? Laaaaaaaame. That one looked like it'd be great for letting people try out different weapon styles.

Felt so good happy.gif

In response to the weapon rune thing, I'm pretty sad about it. I sort of wanted to try out different weapons for fun and switch my runes on them. Like broadswords tongue.gif. But oh well T_T We spend too many credits to get shafted like that imho vOv

But come to think of it, it's probably just not feasible to do.

It is crap. I really think Knights deserve a bit more of an explanation than we feel this is unnecessary. Even if it is weapon rune sales are really profitable for Lusternia so we aren't willing to change the system.

It is pretty clear increased sales is exactly the reason. Weapon runes are what the archtype is balanced around so to be competative you will need them, hence anyone really wanting to pvp with a warrior is going to invest in them anyway. Since the step in cost is high even if you don't change specs, people not willing to buy them will not do so anyway. There is no financial benefit for IRE by its removal, thus they keep it as is.

Also once you start with weapon runes you open the door for other skill specific skills like an astrolabe, runes on cosmic guild items, etc. And if you do it in lusternia, other IRE games will want similar consideration so i highly doubt this is something Lusternia's admins can decide on their own anyway.

By the way, the envoy report was to let warriors flex between weapon specs without having to rebuy runes (or at a reduced price), not completely removing them.

I don't see how you would have to extend it to these as well, astrolabe is for astro and it's not like it's attached that requires you to sell and then re-buy to change to hexes. Same with Cosmic guilds, if you buy runes for your symbol and then leave the guild, that's entirely different than wanting to remove weapon runes to change specs(within your guild). I don't see the similarities.

Incorrect. There's plenty financial benefit for people, like myself, who wouldn't mind investing in a new guild, but refuse to repay anything for the runes. And I can say that Lusternia is independent from other IRE games. Other IRE games have awesome, smart cool stuff that players here have asked for that don't/won't get put into place. I want to say that Aetolia already has something similar to the report in place (might be wrong).

The specific runes were the stats, bleeders, elemental, and wounding ones. They can go on at least 8 different types of weapons. I think it would have been a nice gesture to accept the report.

I am talking about the 1/3th of the price cost to 'transfer' to a new type of weapon. by removing it there is no increasing or even just replacing of revenue.

it is not like you have to sell your sword/axe/bludgeon either. You can keep it sitting uselessly in your inventory until you switch back to the original spec just as you can do with the astrolabe (in fact I still have runed weapons in my inventory as aeromancer). Likewise warriors do not have their runed weapon turned useless when moving to another org unlike monks and guardians. They may not be exactly the same, but the same argument can be applied to them. Hence opening a door.

It may not be 'fair' but commercially their attitude makes sense.

Used a zimoru on my chimaera last night and got:

A great black chimaera with ruby-veined dragonfly wings.

In other news, my nose was customized this morning:

a ferocious loboshigaru nose

Shaped like the long, canine muzzle of a loboshigaru, this peculiar item fits over the wearer's nose
neatly. A wet snout and pair of razored fangs protrude from the perfectly white fur, making the nose
exceedingly realistic, although it would look extraordinarily ferocious worn.
