I am talking about the 1/3th of the price cost to 'transfer' to a new type of weapon. by removing it there is no increasing or even just replacing of revenue.
it is not like you have to sell your sword/axe/bludgeon either. You can keep it sitting uselessly in your inventory until you switch back to the original spec just as you can do with the astrolabe (in fact I still have runed weapons in my inventory as aeromancer). Likewise warriors do not have their runed weapon turned useless when moving to another org unlike monks and guardians. They may not be exactly the same, but the same argument can be applied to them. Hence opening a door.
It may not be 'fair' but commercially their attitude makes sense.

The difference is I buy weapon runes to make my weapons better, and switching to a different set of weapons and trading in/re-buying new runes costs a lot more than trading in a grip rune for cosmic guilds. We're talking up to 8 different runes for one weapon set as opposed to 1. Why would I leave a fully artied weapon in my inventory just to use a different spec? That's why it's a huge difference and not really comparable. I buy weapon runes to make my weapons better, just as an astro buys an astrolabe, cosmic guilds buy grip runes and shield runes etc. The difference is 1) the cost and 2) It's for different weapons. I bet a lot more people would buy weapon runes if they were able to be switched, giving IRE an increased profit, and even if it cost credits to switch them, they would still see an increased revenue.

To be fair with the shield runes, you can keep using them even after you switch. I thought Nienla or something still had their anthame after guild-hopping.

Put them all in a shop if they haven't decayed yet, if you don't have a quill by the time I get home (assuming I ever do) you can borrow mine.

In other news, my nose was customized this morning:
a ferocious loboshigaru nose
Shaped like the long, canine muzzle of a loboshigaru, this peculiar item neatly fits over the wearer's nose.
A wet snout and pair of razored fangs protrude from the perfectly white fur, making the nose
exceedingly realistic, although it would look extraordinarily ferocious when worn.

That's actually a really amazing chimaera. Did you feed him anything different, or is that still the all-egg diet? (bold words in nose description is small changes I would of made, but it looks great elsewise.)
Razenth2011-03-24 23:46:10
lol, that's like what, the third lobo custom nose around? Maybe they should just start selling them. I personally have an aslaran nose, though I was thinking about a comically oversized human nose when I reincarnated.

I want an aslaran nose for the RP... But then Aeral is an aslaran, so having a pig nose is pretty funny.

Meat and fruit. I think it's awesome, but it doesn't really suit Tetra. I really want yours though. Want to trade?
The nose description was a slightly modified version of the original pig nose desc, so I didn't change those parts. There are plenty of lobo's in Hallifax, so I thought it'd be better than a pig...

Had dinner at a friend's place. He has this nice sized TV, that he has set up to switch between cable and his PC. So after dinner we sitting there and he's checking something on his PC with the TV. And I go "Man, I would love to play... Lusternia on the screen, imagine how big I could read it."
Dude was just like, "What!? @_@ *chairfall*" I'm pretty sure he thought I was gonna say WoW. xD

I'm distantly related to too many of the enemy. :/
In somewhat related news, first chance I get, I'm gonna make a diagram of all the major lusternian family trees and any branch families, to both show how much overlap there is and for my own benefit.

It's not a family tree anymore, it's going to be a family web.

You'd be surprised at how true this is in real-life as well, particularly in american politics. Many presidents have been related to other presidents!

I've tried Lusternia on my plasma TV. It's a neat experience, but it's really impractical.

More than that. Mine was first, though. It only makes sense: canines have the best senses of smell of pretty much anything. I just decided that, as a shapechanger, I was keeping some traits from one race or another even when I changed (faeling wings and loboshigaru nose). But non-shapechangers, it only makes sense to customize it to be your own nose.
