Nearly half of the threads on the first page of this forum are locked O_o I mean, I'm indifferent, but I suspect it'd look suspect to people visiting the forums for the first time...
Shiri2011-04-20 16:20:30
That's because everything gets posted in Tweets damnit!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I think Tweets needs to go away so the forum can get back to being a forum again. Having this thread just encourages people to be lazy and not create new threads.

Just because I'm not seen it doesn't mean I don't check my messages and login everyday. :I

Why don't you go make a thread about it?

You should just start splitting everything out into new threads yourself, since everybody else is too lazy too.

Actually, thinking about it a bit, it might be good to close it based on the SEO initiatives IRE is doing. Sticking subjects in a single thread doesn't drive traffic from Google, etc. It also makes it harder to find out what's going on for lapsed players, for instance.
I think I'll make the suggestion that all forums on all IRE sites limit pinned topics to narrow focused discussions.

I like tweets. I never have anything to talk about that's worth a whole thread.
Eventru2011-04-20 19:04:37
I find it fascinating that everyone who is on the 'close Tweets' boat, because everything ends up posted in this thread, are... well... posting it in this thread.
(I don't foresee tweets going anywhere, really.)

Way too much work. Plus there's some amount of stuff that genuinely belongs here! Plus (like now) sometimes someone posts a random comment that everyone jumps on to discuss and by the time I figure out it needs moving it's almost over. Also I'm going to bed now. Feel free to set everyone a good example though!

Making Mudlet triggers...
(I'm sure I will get the hang of it soon enough but I am soooo used to making triggers in MUSH)
EDIT: Ok, seriously, that was the biggest herp derp moment in the history of herp derp moments. -___-

Threads don't get closed because they get moved from tweets. They get closed because they end up being flame wars, whether they are moved or created as a new thread in the first place. Having more threads dedicated to making these comments that do make up flame wars will probably cause even more threads to be closed.
(I still want the rants thread back. If you don't like it, why go near it?)

That last point has always been a good point, I mean, we direct it at other things in the game, but not at certain things. So strange.
