I cant decide if I should reincarnate into a faeling, an aslaran or stay a guardian dracnari....

Browsing this thread, reading all the posts about inactivity and lack of motivation within Hallifax, and I'd like to add my perspective as a relatively new citizen.

There is so much potential within Hallifax. The endowment given by the lore into arts and science, the amount of research that has been and can be conducted by different peoples within guilds, or even represented through various art projects (i.e. productions, books), is really monumental and makes the view of Hallifax wonderful and very intriguing.

However, at times, it is difficult to get into the roleplay that is built within Hallifax as, at many times, those who are about (if they are about) are off-plane. I know a good majority of the time within the Institute, there are more people off-prime than on and with no true ability to see who those persons are (Even though I've found a few by spamming Aides) makes it difficult to know who there is to interact with.

This is not saying that it is different in other organizations, but as a person who -wants- to get involved and -wants- to roleplay within the scientific and artistic dynamic that is the Collective, it is difficult to immerse yourself within that level of involvement when those you want/need to interact with are "missing" in some form or another.

I know I plan to take Araatar in the way of either Ambassador Aide or Cultural Aide (depending upon which Minister I can find and what material he can find to read about both and how he feels) and hope to immerse him further into the Institute (GO SCIENCE!) as I really -really- enjoy experiment roleplay and writing the almost-grandeur that can be involved in harnessing the energies of time and beyond.

Anyhow, that is my perspective, right or wrong. Araatar is going to be around for a while in Hallifax. He really likes it and the people within it he has met.

Araatar, how would you like to run a city shop? <<

Stuff about Hallifax.

Good stuff! From my perspective, Hallifax is out of its slump, anyhow, but there's never a bad time to get invested in the things you mentioned.

I am going to get invested, mostly feeling out which I'd be better at and possibly be more fun to me. The ONLY things that usually has me reluctant about Culture are 1) Generating interest in a city-sponsored event and 2) Coming up with said city-sponsored event. But I've always been bad at those two. tongue.gif

If you'd be willing to teach me as I have no idea how running a shop goes, sure. I'd even put up my barely-a-spellcrafter wares so that on the rare chance someone else decides to take Tarot, they can find the decks without taking a tradeskill, or spamming market for those ever elusive enchanters (although I should say I do enjoy enchanting. It is neat and useful with minimal investment).

You can always talk to Araatar! He wants more perspectives on temporal mechanics and how they play into the various resonances. And I have applied to become an aide. Sent an application to Orventa. She hasn't got back to him about it. sad.gif

Got 68/67 on my new splendor's first try.

Maybe that's Lusty's way of saying 'Welcome back.'

What do they look like? Are they as cool as mine?

They're just one of the public designs:

QUOTE
Finely tailored to fit the wearer's frame, this suit is meant to be both
fashionable and functional. The shirt is made from silk that has silver
thread worked into the weave, which lends it a sparkling metallic sheen
designed to catch the eye from across the room. Each button running down
the front is made from a sliver of pearl thick enough to withstand wear
and tear far above and beyond the norm. The cufflinks are simple silver
loops with a clasp on one side and a hinge on the other of each, and the
lapel has a small slit to hold a pin or other decoration. The cloth of
the pants has been dyed a deep black colour that's softened considerably
by the silver woven into it. The lone button at the groin is made from
black onyx and silver hook-and-loops run the rest of the interior flap.
An ivy motif has been embroidered in black thread along each seam as it
runs down the leg, and the hem of each leg is doubled back on itself and
sewn into the seam to provide stability to an otherwise ornamental
flourish.

I actually think I'm looking pretty suave right now:

QUOTE
a plum-
hued velvet pack with dark silver tracery, a garnet-clasped cloak of wine-red brocade, an imposing, black high-collared coat,
and a magnificent gentleman's suit

Just gonna stop talking to people in Hallifax. They're all huffy and hostile most of the time, does not make for interesting conversations.

I honestly don't see how me telling you that you were wrong about something is hostile at all. Especially when you were insisting you were right when you were very plainly incorrect.

The elemental forced movements are erroring (and so are disabled) because of tattoos. It'll be fixed soon enough, and you'll have your wind back!

But I don't want the wind back! I was actually happy! I thought the flute was some awesome mystical object of the gods sent purely for the sake of taking that nasty wind away so I could gather essence without hinderance.

Edit: Also, Pastebin? Seriously? And the comment wasn't completely directed towards you. Wether you believe you were being hostile or not wasn't the problem. It felt like it. Since I honestly believed it was the flute.

For a mere 350 credits, you can accomplish just that!*
