You should have seen my novice days in Hallifax. Oh god. I think it took me four hours total to find Shalmae.
That time I took you to like four wrong places before finding the processing center... that was just to make you feel better about your disability.

I navigated Hallifax blind with a ribbachi better than Sylandra does with the ability to see rooms and exits

I also do that, but one of my guild leaders complained at me for it

That really irks me, when people complain about you using paths or an autowalker, especially in places as confusing as Continuum and Hallifax.
In one of my Aeromancer exams we had to lead someone to three spheres of their choosing on continuum. Of course I used the mudlet mapper autowalker. When the person asked me if I was using paths, I said "No."

Nothing wrong with it, in my opinion. Why does it matter one way or another? If I put myself in the shoes of a guild instructor who doesn't use paths or an autowalker, I might come up with a reason like, "It's better to know how to navigate on your own, in case you ever find yourself without your crutches." But I'm not even convincing myself.
Llesvelt2011-02-16 17:07:45
I never used autowalker. Too much hassle developing the habit, I think.
Now that I have learned Hallifax by heart I don't really see why I should, neither.

Pah ha ha, I learned how to navigate Halli while I was doing the epic quest, but now I still use the paths to get anywhere - news room, portals, matrix, generator, spire, bank, etc. Too much mental effort otherwise. Also someone needs to Mac-ify Sham's autowalker =(

Or you just need to get a real computer.

Autowalkers are fine. The Admins out the default one in for the specific purpose of making newbie lives easier!

I totally help novices cheat in their exams. I won't even lie. "CHELP MAP is your friend. You understand the Path system?" Tulemrah caught me once with the power requirement, was like "no do not hand the children the golden spheres, bad Dean." And I now have to abide by the rules.

I would totally deny this if I could. (But for the record, I'm fairly decent at getting around Hallifax nowadays..just bad at, y'know, finding justices and comptrollers. As Rika constantly reminds me.)

Keeping your voice mild and measured, you encourage Mrs. Trundle to reveal her needs and wants, then
demonstrate that only in Hallifax can those demands be fulfilled.
Mrs. Trundle slaps her knee and declares that, by the gods, the Village of Estelbar should follow
the Territories of Hallifax after all!
Shouts rise up from the Village of Estelbar, as its denizens loudly pledge themselves to the
Territories of Hallifax.
Been a while since it was my influence, and I finally got Alderwoman because of the revolt! Happy.

The burning flames swirl around you, weaving the broken and frayed threads of your life into a seamless whole, restoring you painfully to life as you gasp loudly for breath.
beast dismiss
You reach out through your bond with your beast and dismiss him, sending him back to the stables.
renounce grace
An armoured badger settles down in a corner to sleep.
You cry aloud your renunciation of divine grace, and leave the protection of the Divinities.
You blink incredulously at an armoured badger.
An armoured badger sits back on its haunches.
You say, "That's weird."
(Disciples of Klangratch): You say, "My badger followed me to the abyss..."
(Disciples of Klangratch): Malicia (from the Prime Material Plane) says, "Loyal badger."
(Disciples of Klangratch): Estwald (from the Prime Material Plane) says, "That's loyalty right there."

That's what happen if you just glance into the mirror instead of looking carefully
Shiri2011-02-17 04:14:26
Yeah, you gotta give those mirrors a good rub, if you just give it a half-arsed brush it'll come out all kinds of weird.
