I tried to start a game...but got stuck equipping my dwarves. I want to go back, but it takes some time just setting everything up.

Oh man yeah. I once spent like, half an hour on this wicked embark site with awesome dwarves picking out the perfect set of gear... and it crashed. I cried on the inside.

Ladies and Gentledwarfs, I present to you Boatmurdered.

This is a succession Lets Play Dwarf Fortress game. Basically each player has one in game year to run the fortress, then they turn the fortress over to another player. Hilarity ensues.

So after finding out that there is a tileset called Phoebus I promptly downloaded it and decided I had to give it another shot. How could I not. How could I not. I will begin my second venture into pain and horribleness after class today.

Green z is turtle mussel shell. And the human came with the goblin raid.

I've never actually managed to have game where I was raided.

Instead I just start trying to incorporate my fortress's architecture into the caverns I excavate - for example, a dining hall with a window overseeing the underground lake. Naturally, an open passage into the caverns means all sorts of fantastic horrors come up from the abyss to keep my military engaged and allow my citizens to vent their neuroses while a giant olm is throw them around by their legs.

You're not playing 31.14 are you? Invaders are bugged in that version to not appear.

OH GOD my cavern collapsed and poor Stoneface Soundrims was caught in the rubble! Now half his body is broken and none of my other dudes are masons. His blood is EVERYWHERE.

EDIT: He died! A bunch of friggin monkeys stole all my medical supplies. While mourning the loss of my second most useful dwarf, 23 migrants rolled into town.

Oh, there's medical supplies now? Back when I played, no one ever got better, they just learned to live with their injuries or eventually died of thirst. And that blood doesn't go away either, unless he changed that too.
