I'm feeling a little lurky, so I just wanted to speak up. I don't think Trinit is scum, but I don't think Solanis pushing for him to be lynched makes him scum either. It looks like one of them is going to be lynched though, so I don't really know what to contribute.
Unknown2010-12-19 09:50:15
I'm still more suspicious of Solanis than Trinit, honestly. Trinit's kind of doing a poor job of defending himself that's made me waver in my feelings on that front, but I still don't think Solanis' reasons for being suspicious of him are solid enough to be pushing so hard for a lynch this whole day.
Also, trying to tell people to "choose a side"? That just doesn't sit well with me. Why have you been trying so hard to lynch Trinit? You say you're going "all out" because Day 2 activity is low, but when you started pushing for the lynch, things were pretty active! That's really what bugs me. The disparity between your reason for trying to lynch him and how desperate you seem to make it go through.

Sorry, it's kind of hard to defend myself when all I have is "He's trying too hard to lynch me" and small discrepancies in his actions, as well as the things you said in your second paragraph. I don't even have any reason to say he's scum besides that.

Well, given the rush of votes against me as soon as the mod declared deadline, it's clear that there are two sides and either me or Trinit will be lynched at the end of the deadline.
Yes. It became active because -I- pushed it. Not because of anything else.

I'm headed to bed. It would be really awesome if I were alive tonight so I could use my power.

Okay, decided I'd claim with the truth.
I'm the hook-nosed man himself: Severus Snape, loyal to the Order and Dumbledore.
I'm pro at Potions. I have a small supply of potions with me, and each night I can choose to spike someone's drink. I used a Sleeping Draught last night on Trinit which roleblocked him.

Isn't Snape a death eater?
insert obligatory "lol Snape kills Dumbledore" joke

He's ultimately loyal to the Order, but yes, it could easily go either way in this game.
I wasn't sure whether to lie about my identity, but I decided that LOVE AND TRUTH will shine through and win the day!

I'm actually more suspicious of you now than I was before, to be honest.

How long until the deadline? I'll be gone for about 10 hours now..
Ssaliss2010-12-19 11:34:18
Well, currently I don't think either of them are scum. Snape would be a very dangerous role to claim unless you know who everyone is (and at this stage in the game, I doubt the scum do). Right now, my guts says Gleip, mostly due to his aggressiveness during day 1. Thus:
Vote: Gleip
Not sure I'll be back in time to actually respond to anything, but we'll see.

There was talk of Fudge being targeted before you popped up and said "I roleblocked Trinit" and started pushing for it. Things continued to be active after you said that, yes, but you can't really say the only reason discussion happened today was because you caused it. Honestly it's eaten up the entire day's focus and anything else that could have possibly surfaced about what happened last night never really had a chance to come up because of it.
Claiming to be Snape is pretty ballsy and potentially a bad move, too. If I'm remembering correctly (been a good while since I read the books) he's a double agent kind of, working with both the Death Eaters and the Order. Despite him being ultimately loyal to the Order, yes...that doesn't make the Death Eater part irrelevant. I wouldn't be surprised if the same thing carried over into the role here. With all the heavy flavor and such that's gone into our roles and powers, I sincerely doubt that you are fully on the side of the "good guys", as that wouldn't really match up as well as everything else has so far.
Gleip2010-12-19 13:17:02
Sorry for being so absent, but I got the warning so I post this right before running to work.
I believe Solanis claim. It is far too gutsy a claim for scum to make, at least without reading more closely, which I don't have time for. And it was faster than the Trinit votes, so.
Vote: Trinit
And I am running to work.

I've been away for a while, and will likely not be here very much today, either, so I'll probably not have a chance to read the earlier discussion in much depth. Nonetheless, from what I've seen, my vote will stay where it is.
Jack2010-12-19 16:16:25
Goddamn, I forgot this game was even going on. Sorry, guys!
So lemme see if I've got this summary right: Trinit was roleblocked by Solanis, who's claiming Snape. (As a jack-of-all-trades type role, right? As in your potions do different crap.) Trinit's claiming Dawlish - who is the bumbling Auror that repeatedly got the crap kicked out of him in the books, another semi-obscure claim. (Yet after the last one turning up true, probably a prudent and definitely a possible one.) The idea that Dawlish's actions would have only a small chance of going through is consistent with his book suckage. But there's a possibility both Solanis and Trinit are town, neither are lying, and Solanis may just be reading too much into his successful roleblock of Trinit. I honestly think pursuing either of them as a lynch target is a Bad Idea considering what we know of their roles so far.
This does make me suspicious, though...

Because I misread the win conditions and thought the Order won when the Ministry and Deatheaters were gone. I wasn't trying to come out and claim a side yet, though you've rather forcefully forced me to do just that, alongside Ssaliss.
This does make me suspicious, though...
Trinit2010-12-19 16:52:54
20$ says Gleip and Solanis are both deatheaters. Just saying.
Diamondais2010-12-19 17:13:12
I'm starting to think both are town now. Yes, Snape is a ballsy claim, but Snape in the end was on the side of the Order.
I don't remember much about Trinit's character, but it was definitely part of the Ministry.
Since we're on a deadline, and we will have to make a choice because some people aren't around to unvote, it's a tough one. Solanis may be able to give us intel on who is a deatheater, but Trinit can also help keep Fudge alive, though it's possible he'll be roleblocked again.
