Try not to do Help anything too many times... it kills the server ^^; I don't think there will be any word on the changes for each race just yet... at least in file form.. or if there are, likely in the admin message

I only did it once! it was the first command I even sent.

I hope we get another reincarnation from this
Unknown2010-11-11 15:05:34
Are there reincarnation daggers available for use on the test server, and/or unlimited use of the changeling cameo?

EDIT: Oh, nevermind. It says right there in the admin message afterall.

So we asked for Viscanti buffs because no one cares to play them for anything but arpee and instead we got nerfs? This is just stage one, right?

I couldn't get any answers about sip penalty but I'm sure there is more to come since this seems real basic for changes.

This level of change is not going to be nearly enough.

We need a thorough, methodical rebalancing process, with significant changes made.

We need stats and resistances to be added and removed - not a little change made as to what they mean.

The player stats make it pretty clear that there are problems, and where they lie.

Yeah. Seems to me that now is the time to suggest changes to races, based on the rebalancing of weaknesses and strengths.

Question though. Is the Lobo health regen reduced as well? Cause Lobo really didn't need to be nerfed. They were good as they were.
Rodngar2010-11-11 17:57:55
If we are discussing racial rebalance on the whole, I am sure a pass at statistics is in order - this is just pass/stage one. We will very likely see stats changed too, probably to pull certain races out of the gutter - it also technically the only way to twiddle with Humans if they were to need it.

Not slated to be, at the moment.

I think it would be nice if the non-terrain based regens did not cap-off with other forms of regen, particularly demi-regen. The races that have this in some form - lobo, igasho, taurian, orclach - are all mid to low tier, and would be nice if some of their racial benefits did not feel like they were shrinking away just because you bashed a lot.

Gleip2010-11-11 19:05:59
Yeah. If Lobo regeneration is cut, we're going to need something to compensate, along with the other regeneration races.
Ayden2010-11-11 19:08:13
Sior said to make suggestions based of off the changes on the server so start suggesting! We all know that certain races need a fix and i've only seen one suggestion so far. This is just stage one, from what it looks like these changes might go live so they are trying to rebalance all of the races around them.

Regen has not been cut. Speeds have been changed to 7/14/21 from 5/10/15 and resists went from 10/20/30 to 7/14/21. Those are the only changes so far.

I've always been meaning to ask - why is it there is no race with level 2 equilibrium bonuses? I mean, we have at least one level 2 balance bonus (aslarans) that's in the middle of statistics but still desirable for melee classes, but not for casters.

Would it hurt any if that level one bonus for furrikin were bumped up to two? A nice, middling caster race would be interesting, I'd think. -ponder-

Also, since resistances and weaknesses are being tweaked, I'd like to toss up a slight reminder that illithoid will need a hit to CON or the illdrain mechanic or something since they're a wee bit skewed, I'd say, in terms of statistical and racial buffs vs. downsides.

Wasn't equilibrium speed something quite damaging to combat balance back in the day?

I think he just wanted to know why there aren't any level 2 eq buffs, only level 1 & 3.
Seraku2010-11-12 08:52:58
What are the changes to Dracnari?

Siam answered it partway. But I'm also curious to know why one would think a level two would be any worse than a level three that's already in existence anyway.
Kiradawea2010-11-12 12:35:51
Yes please. Furrikin lost 12% resistance for 3% weakness and 2% equilibrium. They were already shunned for combat prior to this.
Unknown2010-11-12 19:55:48
In my opinion the problem with tae'dae was the slow speed as effected by entanglements/balance losses. Making them even slower will only compound this problem, no matter how many stats are added... changing speeds seems like a bad starting point for improving game balance since everything in the game is based on the speeds.
