I unwrapped the exact same thing - kinda sweet. Ridley, on the other hand, got 1 gold sovereign. Not sure how that got there..

When gnomes 'drop' there is a message visible to everyone in the Basin. At this point you run around looking for them before other people get them, then beg from them until they give you a present.

I think they drop between now and either Christmas Eve or Christmas Night.
