That everyone hears a whisper.

That everyone is invisible and you need thirdeye to not look a complete fool.

The "righ now" bits?

Names in cyan are generally players. They are also generally more knowledgable than you, and generally value their time, even if they are helping you. However, even if they aren't, being polite is a good idea.

Also, Newbie is the only channel where discussion is generally treated as OOC and inter-org, but CGT is a better place to ask for help about guild/city stuff.

Thanks for everyone's input! I'll be working on the novice guide over the next few weeks and considering all of your suggestions. If you have any last-minute things please let me know.

Daraius still insists that no one can hear him except the person he's whispering to. biggrin.gif

-Mentors: Find a good one, don't be afraid to ask people who look big and important.

-Equipment-wise (maybe not for the 'first day' page, but for the 'what now?' page), you should:
-Never pay more than 250 gold for an empty vial
-know that you can use nouns like EMPTY, HEALING, and BROMIDES rather than DIAMOND, JADE, and OPAL
-Learn how to use the Aetherplex to find cheaper refills
-Learn who/how to ask questions (CGT/GNT/Mentor!)
-Reinforce importance of having a good mentor
EDIT:
-All herbalists should know about PLANTS. It's not mentioned anywhere, though. Maybe AB HERBS FLAX should say something about it?

PLANTS is explained in HELP HERBS 2 (which refers you to the tradeskill help scroll). Also, deep gold/cyan coloured names don't mean newbie guide - they mean demi/ascendant. Bright yellow names are guides - I've had many novices get confused by the different coloured names!

Also, REPLY is not your friend. Really.
