I remember being one of the first people into Open Beta, when it was still the 25th of Estar - with Estarra herself greeting us to wish us welcome to Lusternia!

I was in good company, of course - with the likes of Richter and Ixion!

My biggest regret about playing is never having started at the Open Beta.

Jeeze my first toon was...Xalaen I think? Back when the paladins had that chest full of wooden shortswords. I remember wandering into Magnagora, acting like an idiot, and instead of getting killed I just got told to leave untill I could actually back up acting like an idiot...

You didn't miss out on too much. Yeah, it was fun having (nearly) everybody be all noobish; but on the downside a select few people from closed beta curbstomped everybody with their rudimentary curing systems, there was a lot of backstabbing and sucking up for rank, and Newton was always bashed out guaranteed.

I think a few of the current pantheon are easily identifiable to long-time players, but it's not really considered kosher to speculate on't.

It was a lot of fun for me at least thanks to Ibby, Merloch and Auseklis.... man I miss Auseklis and his big giant tree of DOOM! The best start about starting in open beta is being getting to relive stories about having to walk to school uphill in ten feet of snow barefoot with tae'dae on your back.

Has Auseklis ever returned? We've had an Isune pop up now and then but I don't recall him ever making another appearance. There are a lot of people I miss especially from the Moondancers. The usual suspects you could say. A name I haven't seen tossed around much is Lomdomian, I wonder what ever happened to him.
