I assume so... The first post by Furien said something to that effect, didn't it? Plus, I don't think there's been a single game where they haven't been able to talk to eachother.
Diamondais2011-01-30 01:13:31
Depends on the game, typically they do however have either one of those abilities or both.
Ssaliss2011-01-30 01:15:33
Hmm. Let's calm down a little on the Ileein-train? I kinda want to hear from him before he's lynched, and he's got three out of seven votes right now. Nowhere near dangerous yet, of course, but...

You can take it both ways - at least you know this specific type of power exists in the game now. And what are the chances I'd use the same wording as Furien who posted -after- me?
Yes and therein lies the problem, it is rare for there to be two investigators and there. VERY rare. I can't remember having two at the same time. Might be a tracker or you might have the opposite role or you could be a back-up, but two people with that power is basically unheard of.

Investigator sanity? Explain?

Ok, given that there's no logic in Shou's post, just an accusation, and I have no idea where Furien's thing came from, I'm going to have to roleclaim, but here's the thing: if I give you my name, I die. This is one of the criteria of my existence. However, I am not yet a witch. I have the ability to become one should I find one of my colleagues in the Mariage Sorciere, an alliance of witches arrayed against the bad witches of the setting. I have the ability to scrutinize one person a night; if they are a part of the Mariage Sorciere, the alliance is reformed and I get my powers back. I win with the town faction, even though I am not technically powerless. If I reveal my identity, I die at the next twilight/lynch. Last night I scrutinized Diamondais, and she was not a member of the Mariage. That's all I have so far.
Ssaliss2011-01-30 01:57:06
Hrm. I haven't seen enough of the series to say if that's logical or not, seeing how it seems to be very flavorful. What poked me was the comment "I win with the town faction", even though Shou's investigations (if we choose to believe it) says otherwise. If you win with town, your alignment shouldn't have been a problem for Shou, unless his powers didn't actually detect alignment, but rather magic (which, if I haven't misunderstood anything, seems to be limited to the Witches?).
Ileein2011-01-30 03:03:51
Well, I am a latent witch. As well, I'm a little odd, given that the reason I'm here is because of time travel. I'm from a world where the events of the first story (I think) went wrong and everyone involved died, including Battler, my brother. One of the conditions of my presence on the island is that I cannot divulge who I am, as that will reveal one of the truths Battler is fighting to avoid. This seems to fit into the flavor-message regarding anti-truth vs. anti-illusion-- perhaps that had something to do with it? I dunno.
Sylandra2011-01-30 03:05:38
##UNVOTE ILEEIN.
Sound enough to me. Way too specific for you to be bluffing, or else you have a very elaborate roleclaim at the ready in case.

If you're telling the truth, I hope your "can't divulge who you are" condition specifically applies to naming yourself, as you just pretty much pinpointed who you are...

My investigation did not reveal Ileein to be a witch or magic user or anything - only that he is a culprit of the Rokkenjima massacre. I think that sounds like he is part of the murderer group, no?
I don't take Ileein's story. Much too fanciful. "Can't reveal identity or I die?"
Well, I'm the best detective on this island (per my role) so if my investigation was faulty then I don't know what hope anyone else has.

*sigh* Any other information, Shou? If Ileein was a culprit of the Rokkenjima massacre, it's possible his story holds; it's only that he isn't a culprit of _this_ massacre, but rather a parallell one. Give all the information you have instead of piece by piece. Did it say anything at all when you investigated?
Ssaliss2011-01-30 03:23:08
*anything else at all, obviously.
Unknown2011-01-30 03:28:13
He's a culprit of the massacre. That's it.
Throwing a role into a game where you are a culprit of a parallel universe seems extremely ludicrous. What's the point of my power if it's so easy for the scum to convince town they're something else?

I just wanted to get a few things clear. Ileein claims he:
a) is not a witch
wins with the town
In the case of A, I didn't accuse Ileein of being a witch. He could be a latent witch, sure, but that doesn't change the fact that he's scum/culprit. The fact that he's now trying to use this to defend himself is scummy, taking advantage of mass speculation and things we haven't confirmed to be true or not yet (i.e. the role of witches in this game).
In the case of B, if it were true then I should have found Ileein to be NOT a culprit. I should have found him to be with town, and only when he switched sides or whatever would he have turned out to be a culprit. However it shouldn't matter what kind of alliance Ileein is in anyway - a culprit is a culprit.
Does anyone want to confirm what Ileein said about this Mariage Sorciere thing?
Unknown2011-01-30 03:49:20
Ileein's roleclaim is a pretty powerful one.

Ileein's claim makes sense, yes. It'd also be pretty ballsy for Shou to claim another investigator (The best detective, as he put it.), as well.
