Main two I can think of would have to be Forren and Fillin. One made use of pre-nerfed mindblast, the other being TK Geo. No one else comes to mind.

There were others, such as Mederrach. Forren was much more creative than just mindblsat spam, too.

Sure there is, having a meld isn't always available and it's good training for on the fly fights where there's actual mobile fighting instead of the major camping that plagues Lusternia combat. There have been a few mages who have found ways to beat almost anyone without melds as well. If you have it then use it, sure, that much should be obvious, but there's a disparity between psionic mages and druid combat outside melds that cannot be denied. With druids there really is no choice in the matter.

Maybe re-read the comment, because your response is off. Don't need to kill != shouldn't try to use.

Well, sure, I'd much rather be a psionic mage without a demesne than a druid without a demesne, that's obvious. But fights where you aren't able to have a demesne are pretty rare anyway.

Fair point

Anyone I can kill right now, I can kill without my ents. I'd still need Toadcurse, and a Pooka if they have metawake, but the rest I could leave behind. sad.gif

Not particularly familiar with it myself, but there's an Illusion skill in Dreamweaving

Oookay, there is an illusion skill in dreamweaving, you have to be in dreambody and you cast a basic Illusion a la illusions. There is a mote 'Hallucination' that sends a single line illusion, proceeded by the "Oh look, a mote hit you!" line. I've found that one line illusion with a static preceding message is useless against pretty much anything or for pretty much any skill line. I've tried a few things, but there is no balance I can interrupt that would really help me. I could do cleanse balance, which would be annoying, but that would both get in the way of possible sap-ping (not like I'm EVER going to get sap on Institute) and with no way to change around the illusion on the fly, the enemy can easily deactivate some curing to ignore it

On that note, how am I supposed to get sap on Institute? My demesne tics every 10 seconds, diamond is what, 15 seconds? Depending on how it's timed there is a pretty good chance that it will either fire before I gain balance for stagstomp, before treetoss kicks in, or before I can do much damage without having to start over. Am I just missing timing? For instance, if it decides to tic in the window between sap and stagstomp or shove, what do I do? Regrowth to change demesne timing? After I get a sap lock on, they have passive aff curing and I still have to waste time nullifying to keep my demesne hitting them, making it really hard to damage kill them past their health passives.

People and their wonderful passives smile.gif

Although that's all entirely theory. You should respar him in your demesne and see if you can get something working.

That said, I find this log hilarious because he was complaining to ME, for leaving when he stacked 6 rubies on me and I was trying to get rid of them. Whatever. Now look who's doing the running.

If I were you, I'd just kindly tell them "If you don't have the balls to fight me in my demesne, you're a waste of my time" and then proceed to heartstop smile.gif

Hallucination is delayed a few seconds so there isn't a line immediately preceding it. I usually go for a sap illusion, which doesn't always work if their system is clever and it doesn't hit on EQ, or try to mess with their focus balance.

Diamond is extremely obnoxious to deal with for sticking sap. If he has decent curing in sap, the passive shield will give him plenty of time to catch up with any afflictions you have on him.

Ah, I never was able to get a straight answer from anyone I tested it on. It would be pretty simple to set a check for tree status from ATCP, and I assume many systems do this because I've never been able to get a sap illusion going on anyone I would bother with hallucinations (that I couldn't just kill). I tried Illum ecto, with mixed results. Also, how will this work when/if people start using CONFIG AFFMESSAGE ON? Seems like one line illusion will be restricted to symptom lines only, and off the top of my head, impale is useful for writhe and perhaps moondark for focus.

As far as I know, neither ATCP nor GMCP gives you your elevation. It's not too hard to track from various triggers, though, and there are other failsafes against one-line sap/aeon/choke illusions that one can employ.

The affmessages may help with many afflictions, but there are still plenty of unknown or secondary affliction messages that you can illusion.

Eh, you can match "In the trees above" from ATCP's Room Brief. I need to toy around with it, but the best I've come up with that worked consistently rooting through my trigger lines was some forced sipping. I might start to use it more to try and drain mana if it becomes feasible. I'll root around more!
