There's gags and references to the author's previous works that you'll probably miss out on if you haven't read them. Hussie is like a giant ball of continual self-reference.
Jail Break and Bard Quest are both rather short and stupid. Problem Sleuth is rather long and stupid, and amazing.

This is true, but it's not necessary to read any of the above. I didn't read Problem Sleuth until I'd caught up on Homestuck, and I still haven't read Jail Break or Bard Quest.

Hivebent was one of my favorite parts. I'd rather see more about the trolls than these silly kids. (Still love the kids though)
